GNATS EVERYWHERE

I had purchased miracle gro garden soil and got gnats in all of my plants, and then spread it all through my work plants. Not knowing that it was the soil, I replanted them all and they were even worse the second time! I was looking for ways to get rid of them and found out this is a very common problem with Miracle Gro. Wow thanks for killing my plants and wasting my money and time.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Didn't work as expected, gnats
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear of your experience with Miracle-Gro Garden Soil All Purpose. The soil you purchased is a natural product. While we do not sterilize the soil it is composted to kill any harmful insects and microbes. Unfortunately, soils may become infested with insects while in storage or while they are waiting for sale. In some cases, soils become infested with fungus gnats. Fungus gnats enter the bagged product through the tiny air holes in the bag that are necessary for the soil to "breathe". They do little damage but are unpleasant if present in large numbers. These insects do not feed upon plants, but lay their eggs in soil that contains organic matter. We make every effort to ensure that our product is safe to use. Garden Soil All Purpose has proven to be a good product and has been thoroughly performance tested. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please contact us to see what can be done. I used half a bag in my garden and left the rest in the wheelbarrow. When I came back to use the rest, it had some yellow and white fungus all over it. I'm afraid to use the rest of it for fear it'll harm my plants.

We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase of Miracle-Gro Garden Soil for Vegetables and Herbs. Most of our soils are made of composted forest products and contain very little, if any, actual soil. These composted forest products provide high organic content and nutrients without the concern for soil compaction and allows for air to reach the roots of the plant which improves plant performance. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please contact us to see what can be done. Bought 6 bags last week and was disappointed to find several of the bags had a few bits of broken glass mixed in. For the cost I would hope for better quality control. I hope I got most of it out. Otherwise hoping for good growing this year.
Pros: Good Directions, Easy to Use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was using vegetable and herb soil for my kids to make starter plants, and we found a rusty ni-cad battery in the soil. Ended up scrapping our little project. I wouldn't plant weeds in this garbage.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Response from Miracle-GroBy Agent, Consumer Service, July 16, 2020
Cutlasscrazy84, we apologize for this experience with our Miracle-Gro Garden Soil for Vegetables and Herbs. Every effort made to screen out debris. Possibly, the screens were damaged and not noticed, allowing some debris into the bagged product. We are sorry to hear of your disappointing experience. We are committed to making this right for you. Please contact us at https://tinyurl.com/y9nlw5xl and refer to this review so we can further assist you.
