Almost great

Incidentally I have ended up trying most of Genki's Switch 2 lineup. In a perfect world this one would be my favorite! The plastic feels nice and protective and like how it makes the console feel like one solid piece. It just has 3 issues: the game card holders are WAY too tight (like almost full force to pull them out), the hinged casings for the joycons are plastic on controller plastic so I worry it'll scratch the edges, and biggest of all, although it seemed dockable, mine had a small area on the bottom right that was slightly too tight in the dock and scratched my screen protector. I dunno if this is varying tolerances or maybe they tested the cases with their Aegis Shields, but either way I think a slightly revised version that fixes these would be awesome.

Flimsy and late

The case is very flimsy and feels fragile. The front cover is awkward to take off and put on. Removing the flaps behind the Joycon feel like I am going to break my Joycon. Arrived 3 months late.

It helps for sure!

Definitely helps with hand fatigue and cramps when playing multiple hours. Love that it still fits into the dock and in my NS2 case from Nintendo. Cool that with that case and the Force Field 2 I can have 7 carts on me. Wish the grips were a little bit bigger but that might mess up the dock and case fit, so all in all, a great purchase! Genki ftw once again. Now just them to pump out a Covert Dock compatible with NS2!

Not what I was hoping for

I loved the Force Field OLED and preordered this as soon as it was available because I wanted something similar for the Nintendo Switch 2. I liked the idea of the hinges to allow removing the Joycons without needing to remove the case. Unfortunately, this doesn't scratch the same itch as the previous version. The flip cover, the feature i valued most, is gone. Instead, there's an optional travel cover that pops on and off the unit. My main concern with this is misplacing the cover when I'm playing with the switch 2 out and about, which is something the flip cover solved. I'm also not a fan of the materials. While I'm sure the polycarbonate is more durable and wears better than the PU leather of the previous version, i think the softness of the previous version helped with the angularity of the grip design. Finally, I get the case has to be thin because it's supposed to be dockable, but the case feels dangerously thin around the bottom, and I'd worry about breaking the case while putting on the travel cover. All in all, i think this makes a few too many compromises to try and make a dockable case that allows for removable joycons. I would have preferred something closer to the previous version.

Comfy extra grip with some caveats
on September 15, 2025

The Force Field 2 adds some extra grip to the system in handheld mode, a must as the slim-but-still-larger-than-Switch form factor cramps my hands after even a short gameplay session. The system is still dockable with the Force Field 2 attached, though the fit is a tight one. The swinging hinges that swing back to allow the Joy-Con 2 to be released from the system are functional though they click in a manner that suggests they could break with overuse. I haven't used the cartridge storage as all the other reviews of this product have stated that they are very difficult to remove. Overall, it adds more grip to your Switch 2 and is dockable so I'll continue using it.

Not worth the price.

Honestly, never thought id get it tbh. It was delay after delay. Didnt get mine till mid august or something like that. I ended up dropping my console by accident and i couldnt wait any longer. I ended up getting a case with a cover from savage raven for like half the price and better quality. The force field 2 feels cheap and uncomfortable. The plastic makes a creaking noise when you put any stress or hold it with a tighter grip. The game cart spots in the grips hold the cartridges way to tight, pulling them out make it feel like its gonna break.

Decent grip, but I still miss the SWOLED version
on September 16, 2025

Let me preface this review: I have both Switch Oled and Switch Lite versions of the Force Field grip case and I love them both. The fabric feels great in the hands and provides decent grip on those. I was excited for the Switch 2 version, but it falls a little short. While yes it shares the same name as the previous variants. It's totally different. I really like the thin plastic, but it doesn't really provide much additional grip beyond a naked Switch 2. The plastic is very flimsy; especially on the joy con sides. I wish it fit more snug around the joy cons, because they creak while playing. The biggest benefit is being able to use the folding stand and remove the joy cons for multiple player without removing the whole unit. Also, the MagSafe style ring on the back it awesome. The new Genki Energy Pack is a great addition to my travel carry. I love that the battery attaches to the case. I use the SR Neo Grip while at home, since I play mostly in handheld mode. Whenever I travel I may use a full silicone case without detachable joy cons so they stay solid. I may just put a MagSafe ring on the back on my other cases to continue using the Genki Energy Pack.I wanted to love the Force Field 2, but it doesn't live up to the expectations I had.

Great slim case but one minor annoyance

I like how slim the case is and you can even dock it in the stock Switch 2 dock no problem. My only gripe is that several of my USB cables can't plug into the top port because the case it blocking it but they can be plugged into the bottom USB port. I wish the top USB port clearance were better.Might have to shave away some of the plastic to make some clearance.
