Extremely uncomfortable

The case has very sharp edges around the switch 2 joy-cons. I sent a couple emails asking for an exchange to their other case and offered to pay the difference but didn’t hear back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not too impressed.

I don't normally write reveals, but seeing as I've waited quite a while for this to be shipped out to me ─ It's a lot cheaper feeling then you'd expect. That's 100% due to how creaky the flip hinge is even while its on the device surprisingly. There's a few design decisions that I feel weren't well thought out. Namely:- Again, the flip hinge not being as snug or robust- An uncomfortable grip because the cut out is harsh and presses against your palm- The secret compartment for your game is extremely difficult to remove and feels like I am breaking both the cartridge and the case- The travel cover is difficult to apply and remove, I can see the lower frame under the screen breaking under constant pressure

Almost perfect

I recieved my Genki Force Field 2 with Travel cover on August 9th and used it for a little over a week before making this review on it. I preordered this case the week the console released as I wanted something to make the Switch 2 more unibody and something that was very compact and minimal. First off, I have not removed the Force Field 2 since recieving it and it makes noticably more comortable while not adding too much to it's profile. It is still dockable but the dock does need to be held down in order to remove it, while annoying not the end of the world and I have already ordered a compact shell for my switch 2 dock so this will no longer be an issue once that arrives. My two biggest complaints about this case, one being minor is the cartridge cutouts in the grip are a little too tight, I feel like I'm going to break the cartridge trying to take it out. I did solve this issue by sanding the nubs down some but it isn't something I should have to fix myself. My biggest complaint about this case is definitely the travel cover itself, while it does protect the switch 2 very well, it's just a little too rigid to take on and off easily and there's really no intended way or place to use your fingers to pry it off, I wish the bottom lip had a softer material to make it come off and on more easily and/or the plastic were just more malleable and easier to work with. Overall my experience has been great and I think I chose a great forever partner for my Switch 2. I would recommend this case if you're someone who wants just a little extra grip, a more unibody switch if you never remove the joy cons and/or just want something that is sleek and minimal you can throw in your bag without taking up much space. If the few of my complaints could be addressed this would easily be a 5/5 case for me but the few drawbacks keep me from calling it perfect.

Premium Protection with a Few Minor Flaws
on August 17, 2025

The Genki Force Field 2 with travel cover is a solid and premium-feeling case for the Switch 2. The materials feel high quality, and it covers the console really well without making the grips too bulky. The travel cover adds a nice extra layer of protection, making it easy to toss the console into a bag and go. I also like how easy it is to remove the Joy-Con thanks to the hinged design, and the one-piece build gives it a sturdy feel overall. The fact that it’s dockable is a big plus, and I appreciate the easy access to the kickstand. Without the travel cover, it’s even compatible with the Genki Sleeper Case and still fits inside a Hori Game Traveler case, which is a great bonus. That said, it’s not perfect. The fit in the dock is a little tight, so I’d recommend using a glass screen protector (like the one Genki offers). The cartridge slots only hold one game each, and they’re so snug it almost feels like pulling the cartridge out could damage it. Also, while the product photos suggest that the Joy-Con hinge covers can open while docked, that’s not really the case—the hinges sit just outside the dock, so they won’t open in that position.Overall, this is a sturdy and well-designed case that offers excellent protection and thoughtful features, even if there are a couple of small drawbacks. Definitely a great option if you’re looking for a premium Switch 2 case.

Found the case for me.

This case is minimalist as advertised and feels great in handheld. The case both feels like the natural system of the while still giving you a nice grip feel you would not otherwise have. The grips provide good placement for your middles fingers on the back while your index fingers are on the LB and RB. Front cover (if you included it in your purchase) is pretty easy to get on and off, but doesn’t fit on with the thumb extension that I had on with the left stick.Fits good in the dock. Slides right in and charges no problem. You just don’t get the feeling it is all the way on, like you do with no dock, but it is.One feature that I hadn’t thought much about was that the case gives you full access to the kickstand. Had another case that I tried, but it blocked it, giving me a kickstand that was inferior to the switch 2’s. The kickstand on the switch 2 is a very nice upgrade of the switch 2, and would not want a case that blocks it.
