Less Than Expected

Bought as part of a package that included the sub mini and two ones. The beam is the weak point, and frankly is much closer to Samsung quality than my 5 year old Sonos soundbar. All of the hype about the gen 2 improvements convinced me to give it a shot but I wish I just got the Arc. Unfortunately Sonos demands you return the entire package v just the beam (I'm fine paying the difference) so looking at starting from scratch.
Pros: Easy To Setup
Cons: Poor Sound Quality

I guess I expected too much, it worked from my remote for a couple days no I have to go find my phone every time I want to change the volume. Not much bass to speak of and way to expensive.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Poor Sound Quality

Overall I would say the Beam (Gen 2) does improve the overall sound quality, however the change in TV audio is very modest.

I installed Bean2 in my surround sound set up replacing a play bar because I wanted to use an ARC connection instead of an Optical connection in order to receive Dolby Digital quality sound. While viewing tv shows the sound and audio do not match despite trying to make adjustments described on the support info supplied by Sonos as well as other reports on how to fix on U Tube posts.when watching tv again the audio is hollow and tinny sounding even after making adjustments via the EQ . While watching a movie with bold music and action scenes the sounds comes through in tones that I expected . The playbar supplies deeper base and quality sound during everyday tv watching so I am going to return the Bean2 because of reasons stated Iam dissapointed with the experience
Pros: Dolby Digital 5.1, Easy To Setup, Easy to use, Wireless Surround Sound
Cons: Audio lip-sync not acceptable, Poor Sound Quality

I installed my Beam under my TV in my small living room. I use my Beam primarily for music / podcasts and am extremely underwhelmed. I'm not an audiophile, but the audio sounds extremely weak / underpowered and has basically no bass (I realize there is no Sub). My previous Sony and Samsung sound bar setups were far superior and cheaper.

Sounded great in the store standing 4 feet in front of it, but terrible in my big living room with high ceilings. I think for the price it should sound good from 10 ft away. I liked the app features but not worth the price so I returned it.

Use the Beam for watching regular TV like sit coms and news. My main use is to watch movies especially those with Dolby Atmos. The realistic clarity fooled me. During one of the movies I heard a knock at my front door , only to hear the knock again while opening the door. I realized it was the sound from the Beam. Graet listening
