And the application is horrible. It's very hard to follow and understand. I also miss The Alexa integration.

No on screen volume

Sound is fairly good. Downside is that it won't work on S1 platform due to older Play 5's so it runs by itself on S2. Also, would be nice to be able to see volume level on the TV.

A big upgrade from Playbase

We switched to a Beam (gen2) from our Playbase and what a difference in sound. We use it in our home theater set up. The HDMI eARC connection is a significant upgrade over the optical we had on the Playbase. We had a lot of sound cutting out on our Playbase and losing sound connection when we switched streaming services. We have a Samsung Smart Tv with an HDMI arc connection (not eARC ) but the Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Atmos sounds amazing with full 360 theatrical sound. We've had no issues with the sound cutting out and switching between streaming services. We cannot however use our Apple TV because our Samsung TV uses HDMI arc and not HDMI eARC but playing the sound through our 2019 Samsung TV works perfectly. The Beam (gen2) has been the perfect addition to our system. We use an EERO mesh WiFi system in the house.

I love the Beam. I live in an apartment so didn't need a very big soundbar, the Beam delivers great sound along with the Mini Subwoofer which delivers so much bass watching movies and listening to mucis from my soundbar is exceptional. Very happy with my purchase.
