Great sound, inconvenient interface

Optical sound connection with my TCL Roku TV works great and sounds wonderful, but then the remote doesn't control the sound. So I have to find my phone, open my phone, find and open the Sonos app, then select the device, then use the volume slider. There's got to be a better way.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult to Use

Good sound but functionality issues

The Beam Gen 2 is hooked to a tv (Samsung The Frame 2021). It provides a considerable improvement over the tv speaker. But, there are two issues which should have been addressed. Trueplay is a important feature of the speaker - I use an Android cell- and requires iOS for setting it up. So far, I'm not inclined to ask my Apple using friends to download the app. The other is a functionality issue that seems to be more prevalent. The volume decreases to zero if you pause a show for more than a couple of minutes and when the tv is turned off. Several forums indicate that Sonos doesn't seem to have a handle on it. These two issues would cause me to recommend a thorough comparison of other sound bars in this price range.
Pros: Easy To Setup
Cons: Only iOS for Trueplay
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We received one soundbar for a gift and used it not only for music but especially for our television sound. Enjoyed the change so much that we purchased another one for our beach home. Such a great difference. Can't imagine ever going back to the original television audio. Love it !

First , my play base stopped connecting via blue tooth. I had it for a few years. Sonos replaced it , free of charge, with the Beam. How great is that? The Beam connected with my bass and play one's without difficulty. Sounds great and I can control the volume verbally. Thanks SONOS!

This was the answer to my prayers! Space limitations dictated the Beam rather than the Arc to be the soundbar for our new television. We added the smaller subwoofer and WOW! Clarity of dialogue and depth of sound is terrific! And having Alexa built in means that the beam is making music and playing pod casts on demand. Essential entertainment!

Hooked to my Samsung flatscreen tv. TV speakers are in rear and terrible. Wanted a compact unit that would sit below the tv and have good clear sound. Was a little disappointed in the sound quality but it is very clear, the settup was quick and easy, and it works fine so no big deal. I watch tv so seldom I don't need a high end sound system. Just wanted to be able to stream video and be able to understand the dialog. No complaints about this unit.
