I have a large Great Room. I bought the Sonos Beam Gen 2 and 2 additional speakers and a woofer. All I can say is WOW!!!! My husband is hearing impaired and he can hear everything including "voice" much better now. The sound quality is superior. I would highly recommmend this Sonos combo!

I use this in place of a receiver and surround system of speakers in the bedroom. It takes up almost no space, has very decent sound, and is much more convenient than a reciever and wired speakers. I'm still tuning the sound, and I've ordered a sub to add to it. From what I've read, this will add considerably to the quality of the sound. Is it as good as the Polk/Onkyo setup it replaces? No, but it's very good, easy, wireless and a lot cheaper. I'm satisfied.

After setup, found that the sound quality of the Beam (gen 2) and the Mini Sub are borderline exceptional. This is attached to my tv, but having the ability to freely airplay music over the speaker system is wonderful, and a breeze! I played all types of music on it so far, classical, jazz, pop, country, and even musicals. The rich base and wide ranging Beam make a great pair and filled up the room with great sound. One issue I had during setup was with the Mini Sub was during updates. I had been able to setup and update my Beam without issue and then tried the same with the Mini Sub. However, it would not update after many attempts and even after contacting Sonos Chat support. Turns out it was the VPN I had connected on my phone. Even though it was connected during setup of the Beam, the VPN interfered with the Mini Sub setup. I recommend that you turn off any VPN or firewall (either at router or on your mobile device) during setup. Once I disconnected the VPN, the Mini Sub connected and updated first round. Great sound followed!
