We have a relatively small but open (2-story ceilings) living area and I had all but stopped watching TV because the sound using the TV speakers was so bad. And while the house has built-in speakers in the ceiling, they were not usable for the TV and they did not produce very good sound for music listening either. I went with the beam over the Ray because I wanted the HDMI Arc connection; and Beam over Arc because we just don't have a large room. Our current TV is not equipped with HCMI Arc but we are building a new home and will be getting a new TV; so we can upgrade the connection then. I purchased 2 Era 100 speakers along with the Beam (great holiday sale!!) so I could setup surround sound. I have to say, I am very impressed with the ease of setup and the sound quality. I enjoy watching movies again. I can hear the dialog without having to crank the volume. It was super easy to connect my iPhone and enjoy music. Sonos also has music channels which are pretty good as well. I highly recommend the Beam. The mounting kit was also super easy and works great! Thanks Sonos for a great experience.
Pros: Easy To Setup, Easy to use, Superior Sound, Wireless Surround Sound
I'm extremely pleased with my new Sonos sound bar. Deep, rich sound. Crystal clear voice projection with speech enhancement. Great app, but it does take some time learning your way around it.
Pros: Dolby Digital 5.1, Easy To Setup, Easy to use, Night Mode, Speech enhancement, Superior Sound, Versatile, Wireless Surround Sound
when running TV sound via eARC HDMI has a hollow tinny sound that is quite grating, especially for background noise like live sports. App is also pretty unintuative. Sounds nice with music services though. So basically, wicked expensive alternative to your bluetooth speakers. For what i watch not an upgrade to my late model Samsung smart TV speakers.
