I've had this GW7 for about two weeks now, upgrading from the GW4 (which has been fantastic since day 1). The interface is really nice and smooth and fluid, and it's clear there's been a lot of work done with Wear OS in the past couple of years. If you've previously owned and loved a Samsung watch, this one will only grow that love even more.
The device itself is mostly physically unchanged from the previous non-Classic or Ultra models, and your old watch bands (20mm) will fit the 7, as well as a few of the cases. It feels like it weighs the same and definitely fits the same as previous models, so you know it's comfortable when worn.
The updated Wear OS 5 with OneUI 6 is great. It feels snappy and by and large it looks much the same as previous versions, with the exception of a vastly-updated PIN unlock screen. Suffice to say that the software is maturing very well under Samsung and Google's combined efforts.
I don't use a Samsung phone so there are a few features I don't get access to. Primarily it's the AI features that I lack exposure to. Typically the Blood Pressure and ECG functions wouldn't be supported, either, but there is a pretty simple way around that if you have a Pixel or other non-Samsung phone.
Charging this device seems to take just as long as previous models, so there's not a lot of advancement in this category. The charger puck now comes with a USB-C connection rather than the USB-A from the days of old.
There are a lot of reasons that I am glad I upgraded, and with a great deal, I feel like I got a stellar watch and experience.
Before I committed to purchase this watch I Was promised this watch would pair with my Samsung tablet. It will not so Samsung help lied to me. The watch is not really that user friendly. Battery could be better. What since does it make to not allow your watch to pair with your tablet. Poor engineering .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The upgrade from my previous Galaxy Watch4 has been spectacular. I love the look of this watch and the performance is fantastic. Operation is smooth and responsive. The sensors are always spot on with measurement of all my activity. The new gestures are useful and I am happy with the new band design and backward compatibility with all of my old bands. This is a great watch that I highly recommend for anyone who wants a quality watch at an accessible price point.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm not sure why people complain about the battery. If you leave it to where the display is always on then of course it's going to drain the battery lol. Also, putting it into battery saving mode helps! For example: I put the watch on once I left for work at 8am, it is now a little after 8pm and it's at 78% so, I think that's pretty good. Battery is a vast improvement. I upgraded from my 4 which was a 40mm and wanted to get the ultra but 47mm is too big for my wrist, 44mm is just right. Overall, I'm happy about all the other features but my main concerns were a longer battery and slightly bigger screen. I would definitely recommend
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is sleek, stylish, and packed with useful features. Its fitness tracking and health monitoring are accurate, and the battery life lasts for days. The watch pairs seamlessly with my phone, making it perfect for staying connected on the go. Highly recommend for both fitness enthusiasts and casual users!
At first I had troubles with changing watches, couldn't restore from my backup to the new watch, then the backup showed up as non-existent. I finally succumbed to the idea of not having those watch faces etc on the new watch due to the change in operating systems etc. After finally getting over that and getting the connection set up to my OnePlus phone I worked on making it work for me. I've had it for almost a month now, still learning things it does that I didn't know about, figuring out some of the depth of details it has that the 3 just didn't. Overall it's a huge upgrade, if I had a Samsung phone there are other health details I would have that I don't, but still it gives me reams more info than I had before. So I'm satisfied with it, had to modify my expectations a bit so I could learn how the new system works, but overall I'm very happy with the watch and the info that I'm getting from it. BTW, I had thought to change over to my old watch band from the Galaxy 3, but found that wasn't such a good idea. The band that comes with it works pretty well so I won't change that out.
Previously had the original Galaxy watch, the galaxy 4, and now the 7. The I can't speak for generational changes but it definitely has a great feel and feature set. Very satisfied with the upgrade.
