Wanted a comfortable office chair with plenty of adjustability for height of seat and arms degree of lead/rocking good back support. Found this for a good price with rapid delivery.
No its not built as well as the Herman Miller Aeron and probably won't last twenty years or more. It's not as comfortable or as adjustable either. But if you want to have a seat and back that is made of sling material and pay 1/10 the cost than this may be worth looking at. One of the bolts that came in the assembly kit was mis-manufactured so it would not screw in all the way so I had to wait over a week for Staples to send me a replacement before I could use the chair. But overall for the money this chair is not a bad choice. Its fairly comfortable and helps maintain the correct posture. I did put a thin piece of memory foam between the lumbar support and the mesh so that my back was not right up against hard plastic - that also made the chair much more comfortable. The height adjustment does not go very low so if you are 5'2" or shorter this chair may not work for you - the Herman Miller Aeron definitely goes lower at least in the A model.
I have the blue-backed one with the mesh back and solid/cushioned seat. It was fairly simple to put together metal parts for lots of it so well made should hold up. I gave it 3 stars because the seat cushion is a little hard. You don't want too squishy but this is a bit too far the other direction. Also I haven't been able to get the adjustment to change the front-to-back tilt of the seat to work. I can adjust the height and the angle of the seat back but the lever that should allow for movement in the angle of the seat itself doesn't seem to work the seat is never moveable no matter where I position the lever. Otherwise I think this is a solid seat and will hold up over time. I can't speak to others comments about the lumbar support not staying in place in the back because I like it fairly low so I don't know that I'd notice. I may edit this later if I notice it slipping from the slight raise I did.
