1st a little advice -- if you and your back are going to make this purchase and live with it for years you might as well do it right. That means a little online research to understand the types of office chairs and features. Then--above all--go into a Staples w/ a good selection and actually sit in the chairs and play with ALL the adjustments. Don't forget to play with the recline tension knob which will make a big difference in your experience of the chair. (The knob can be hard to turn but go all the way both ways to feel the difference. It's "righty tighty lefty loosie.") Another very important issue is tilt lock. Many tilting chairs can be locked in a straight up position but not in a tilt position. This Kroy chair can be locked in any angle of tilt. This feature made the difference for me (together w/ overall versatility size and comfort) . The only problem is that when I lock the chair into my preferred tilt angle the minimum seat height is slightly too high for my body (5'10"). Not hard to fix with a small foot rest.
