Quality and Listing Accuracy Issues

I don't recommend this chair. I had previously tried the other Kroy chair with the mesh seat. The mesh came loose immediately on that one so I returned it but I was otherwise happy enough to try the fabric seat version. After assembling it I am not so happy. The only reasons I have not returned it yet are (1) the price was deeply discounted (2) I haven't found a better replacement yet and (3) it's a 45 minute drive back to that store. I may decide to return it later. Here are the problems... PACKAGING: The cardboard protectors around various parts were mashed. As a result the plastic sleeve that goes around the gas lift was deformed into a triangle shape. MINOR DAMAGE: There are two places around the edge of the seat back where the mesh fabric must have been banged on something at the factory. In both spots the fibers are cut (i.e. a hole in the mesh). These are small so I probably won't notice unless the cut fibers come loose. I will have to keep an eye on that for the remainder of the return and warranty periods. The base (star) has a spot where the paint is scratched off showing rust colored metal underneath. SEAT BACK MESH UNIFORMITY: The mesh is aligned square/vertical from the bottom up to about 3 inches from the top where it curves off to one side about 25 degrees. That's a bit ugly. SEAT CUSHION SHAPE AND ALIGNMENT: After assembly the cushion appears to point markedly to the right side. I loosened the bolts and held the seat as far left as I could while re-tightening. It still LOOKS like it points right but now it FEELS like it points left when I sit in it. Seems this chair cannot be straightened. LISTING ACCURACY: The picture in the listing shows a cushion that has a well-defined shape with neat edges and a nice looking fabric. What I got was more blob shaped and a bit irregular (probably causing the alignment issue) with fabric that is clearly of a different type and appearance. The listing does say "New look same product" but that doesn't make sense unless you're talking about the packaging. For example you can have the same food product in two different looking containers but if a CHAIR doesn't looks the same then it's not the same product.

Bought this because we needed a second office chair with the WFH situation. The cushion seems to lean forward or perhaps it's the way the cushion attaches to the base and that's twisted somehow. Not 100% sure which but the chair just looks/is slightly crooked. More comfortable than an unforgiving wooden chair that was not made for adults. Would probably return for a replacement/different chair under normal circumstances but who has time for that right now.

I recently purchased the chair for my husband as a birthday present. While he and my son were putting it together he complained “it’s too big it won’t fit at my computer desk”. Well it just fit under the computer desk. Recently he has said how comfortable it is and likes the lumbar support it has!

This chair was delivered and put into a storage area and I only found it today! A staff member here put together - very straightforward - and adjusted it. The height is perfect AND I love the fact that it leans back - ideal for phone calls and I can put my feet up if I want to. I am now a satisfied customer and will be back to Staples again.
