This chair is not designed for sitting forward. The front of the chair seat very firmly hold your legs up unlike a traditional seat whose front edge cushions the legs. The chair sits you back

I got this on a good sale and it was relatively easy to put together --- just dealing with the base updside down and attaching the pieces --- begin to thread each screw BEFORE you tighten (as the directions advise) because if you fully tighten one before you thread another one it seems to through off the alignment of the next screw. Comfy chair as I prefer all mesh chairs and I sat on a chair at twice the price in the store and did not notice a difference.
