...there's a few problems I found with this chair after about a week and a couple days. The most glaring is something I read from these reviews before I purchased but since it was only 1 person I figured it wasn't significant. The design of the seat front cuts into the bottoms of your thighs. The mesh is nicely made and forms a good cushion of support but it's this front part that because of the cushion that allows you to sink into the chair a little doesn't have any slack it ends up being uncomfortable after a while. Secondly there's no way to sit further back in the chair and the seat portion isn't very long. You may think "well he's big or tall and probably just needed to buy a bigger chair." I'm 5'9" 145 lbs. - not nearly a burly bear needing a sofa for an office chair. There's no "recline" feature that pushes the seat back allowing more room. It's great for posture but seeing as how my whole workday is spent here I want to recline back and stay there while I mull the goings-on of my business. That said I took off the headrest after 30 min because it was too forward angled and didn't allow for actual head rest (again while I mulled--I mull a lot in my business!). I purchased another chair (from one of Staples' rivals that shall be unnamed) that's 80% better for around the same sale price that I read that was longer in dimensions. This is when I realized I definitely needed to return the Hyken. After assembling this new one (it wasn't available in stores) and sitting in it there was not a "thigh-circulation-cutter" going across the seat front and I found the seat back and recline function that allows for more seat room and I could lean back and have the chair stay there. One last good thing about this new chair--it was much easier to assemble! Not that the Hyken is difficult but there were less screws and more parts already assembled out of the box and the parts fit better together. Even the Allen wrench tool that came with it is better than the traditional "L" shaped from the Hyken! Bottom line while the materials of the Hyken are of high quality there are more ergonomic options out there.

Chair on sale. At this price with warranty (7 years) totally worth it. Setup was easy took me all of 10 minutes - However using my tools. Yes all bolts have a hex pattern and a hex wrench is included. I am sure I would have added 30 to 60 minutes in set up time if I used only a hex wrench. I used 10 and 12 m sockets and a portable drill. Set up went real fast..... While it is not a HermanMiller this chair has a decent feel adjustable (not arm rests just up/down) and lockable swivel. I have tried the chair with and without the headrest. My wife likes the headrest I have not decided. Highly recommend....
