Usable seat width is more like 16.5" not 19.3" because otherwise you will be sitting on hard plastic. They padded the front of the seat because they knew people wouldn't like the back of their thighs resting on hard plastic so why not the sides as well? Very dissatisfied do not buy unless you are petite

As a freelance writer/editor I spend a lot of time in my chair. So comfort and flexibility are critical. This chair offers both. My only suggestion would be making the headrest adjustable but otherwise a great chair!
