Pretty good vacuum for the price!

I made myself dizzy researching vacuums. I've owned 2 Dyson over the past 10 yrs. First one lasted 7+ years and still works despite the cover over brush falls off. My second died after 2 years despite the hefty $500 price tag. Ran SO hot and was SO loud. I decided not to spend that kind of money again bc most products last about 2 years. This vacuum is decent. Does the job on carpets, furniture, draperies etc. Not so great on hardwood floors but still does the job. Just takes more "go overs" than the carpet cleaning. I like the lift off feature for the stairs and drapes. I have 2 heavy shedders. A terrier with little hairs that gets stuck everywhere and a Golden which is self explanatory. This vacuum seems to clean just fine as compared to the Dyson. I'd say difference is suction power. Dyson is superior there but not enough for the price and longevity of the machine.

It does an excellent job of cleaning, it is very easy to clean and they have improved the HEPA filter. My wife also loves the light on this machine. Would recommend this unit. We have a 90 pound English Creme Golden Retriever that sheds plenty of hair too !

I really don't have anything negative to say about this except for that the cord could be longer, but thats a minor issue. The light is a gamechanger--I didnt realize before how much stuff I wasnt actually picking up with my old vacuum. So far it seems to work well on both carpet and laminate; also havent had any issues with cleaning it out. really love this thing. Never felt so passionate about a vacuum. #sweepstakes

Dog hair be gone!

We are a household with pets, 2 huge dogs and a cat. So we have hair everywhere. So I was excited to try the Bissell Liftoff and it was much better than I was thinking it would be. It wasn't heavy to push, push of the button to clean out the canister, and I like how the filter is washable. It was much more effective on my hardwood floors then my old one. It actually picked up the dog hair fur balls instead of just blowing them around the room. It also picked up better on the carpet. It picked up much more fine particles along with the dog hair. The lift off made cleaning the stairs so much easier since I didn't have to take the whole machine up the stairs with me. The cord was long enough to do the entire stairwell in one pass. Plus the lights are so bright on it I could see the corner of the stairs to make sure I got all the dirt and hair. So far the quality seems good and it seems solidly built. I would recommend for pet owners without a doubt. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this vacuum the kids now want to vacuum for me!

Wow! This vacuum really can get the job done. We have two pugs that shed a TON. We have a robotic vacuum but we still have to vacuum the whole house every week to keep the pet hair away. When I got this vacuum, I noticed it was about the same size as a pet hair vacuum I've had for a few years. I found that it is a physically easier to navigate around furniture and under the edge of consoles and tables. I love that you are able to lift off the base. We were able to vacuum the high window sills for the first time ever. Also, the attachments did a phenomenal job at cleaning under the couch cushions! It's the cleanest they've ever been. Emptying it and putting it away was super easy, and there was absolutely no hair wrapped around the brush! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this vacuum.

I like this machine, but I would change one thing...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for the bedrooms. It feels sturdy and was very easy to assemble. It removed an amazing amount of pet hair from my oversized area rug and was gentle when used on bare wood floors. The Lift Off feature is great for the stairs. Pet eraser tool works well. My only complaint is that it cannot really clean under beds even if there is 6 inch clearance. What this machine is missing is an attachment that has a low profile to go under beds and other low clearance furniture. The combo wand and the "pet eraser tool" do not have the correct angle to clean under furniture. I just checked the website and I don't see any other possible attachments, so I might not be able to get rid of my old cannister vac.
