This is truly the best vacuum I've ever had! Very strong suction and roller works on Berber carpet and a large high pile area rug, roller turns off for use on hard floors which means it picks up crumbs instead of shooting them back toward your feet, long power cord, small brush attachment is perfect for dusting, upholstery brush in conjunction with being able to detach the canister has made stairs so much easier. I could not believe how much cat hair it picked up. The only con I can think of is that I wish the accordion hose a bit longer. I have pulled the vacuum over a couple of times while using the hose in hand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have a long hair black German Shepherd in the process of blowing her coat--this vacuum is WONDERFUL. No other vacuum we had could completely pick up the hair on a daily basis. They kept clogging up and would just not pick up anymore. But the Bissell is amazing. And the design--not a single struggle.in removing the canister to clean or using the attachments all done in seconds while the rest of the vacuum remains stable. Good job Bissell!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum works great for cleaning low carpets, hard flooring and especially excels at picking up pet hair. The LED lights on the front are a great feature because you can see all the dust and hair on the hard floor so you don't miss a spot. The hose for the detachable arm could be just a tad longer but it's not a dealbreaker whatsoever. it's amazing for cleaning the stairs getting the cob webs in the ceiling corners. The pet hair attachment i have a little trouble using but if you can get the right angle it works pretty well. i haven't used it on any furniture yet (just a throw rug) but i imagine that's where it shines. Also the machine is very easy to dump out.

Pet turboeraser is the best part

I have a pure breed, short hair jack russell terrier who SHEDS none stop. The majority of my house is hardwood so have been getting by with a broom and a standard vacuum to use on the carpet on the stairs leading to and in the kids playroom. When I received the vacuum to test through stellar product testing panel I was super excited because of its multi surface and lift off feature, and the pet turboeraser attachment. Sadly I was not impressed with this vacuum overall. The one thing that I did love about the vacuum was the pet turboeraser. The suction on the attachment was excellent and when using it to vacuum my couches , not only was it removing the dog hair it was essentially deep cleaning my couch cushion! Unfortunately I can not say the suction was the same for the main vacuum. When using it on my hardwood floors it left behind debris and the only way i was able to ensure things were picked up with the first pass was if I moved the vacuum over it VERY SLOWLY... needless to say, It's quicker to just sweep the floor with a broom. And on the carpet while the tangle free brushes are appreciated when I came along doll hair, the suction proved to be no better than that of a standard vacuum. As far as the lift off feature, I did note that it was a tad bit on the heavy side but unfortunately I could not really take advantage of this feature because while the cord is relatively long it's still not long enough to reach the closest outlet from my stairs. I understand that this circumstance is not bissell's fault but it still would've been nice if there was a way to make the lift off feature cordless for this exact reason. Overall it's a decent vacuum and would recommend but there are definitely better vacuums out there.

Poor design leads to frustration.

The design of this vacuum leads me to constantly being frustrated. The cord attaches to the vacuum at the base, so you have to hold the cord or run over it every time you go back and forth. The 2 in 1 dusting brush, does not stay up if you're trying to use the crevice tool and because it's a 2 in 1 it's too thick to get under appliances or in tight spots. Making the crevice tool useless. The light is nice but frustrating because it shows me all of the hair and dirt the vacuum did not pick up the first time I vacuumed. With 2 kids and 2 dogs, this vacuum doesn't get the job done. Very disappointing, as this is my first experience with a Bissell. Frustrated that I feel stuck with this vacuum now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
