Great on pet hair; cord is NOT 30', crevice tool is a joke

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I went shopping for a new vacuum I was excited to find a Bissell that sounded perfect. I've had many Bissells over the years and have always been happy with them. This does a good job of picking up long cat hair, is lightweight and pretty quiet. BUT. When I went looking for a vacuum I automatically eliminated those with a cord shorter than 30 feet. The specs on this web site said 30' (uploading a screen shot below), but it is not. It measures 25', and now I have to plug and unplug three times to sweep my first floor instead of reaching the whole thing from one plug. Also, the "combination crevice and duster" tool is absolutely a joke. The "crevice" tool has a reach of about an inch. It not only won't get between sofa cushions, it doesn't even reach the bottom of the cups in my car console. And forget cleaning the narrow spaces between my bookcases. The duster is cheap and flimsy with only a narrow row of bristles. I'll keep it because the cat hair is my main job for a vacuum, but next time I go looking I will regretfully look elsewhere. Very disappointed with the decline in Bissell quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Vacuum for Families

I have been using the Bissell Multiclean Allergen Lift-OFF Pet vacuum for several weeks now and I love it. This thing has the BEST headlights on it. With 6 kids, 2 cats, and a Pug in our house at the beach...there is a ton of dust, dander, hair, and sand that accumulates on the floors. With this vacuum, I can clearly see all the dirt that I am cleaning up and what I have missed. The lights are so bright! Here is a list of Pros and Cons for this vacuum, IMO: Pros: *Awesome lights allow you to see exactly what needs cleaned. *HEPA system is great for allergy sufferers (like me! I haven't had any issues with my asthma whlie using this) *The Lift-OFF feature is great for doing stairs or in the car. You don't have to lug to whole machine into tight spaces! *The canister is easy to take off for emptying and easy to get back on. *The furniture cleaning attachment does a great job cleaning my couch and stairs. No more cat hairs stuck in the fibers! Cons: *The vacuum is heavier than some others I have owned. *The front is wider, so it doesn't fit between my dining table chair's legs...just means I have to move the chairs more. *Vacuum is louder than some others I have had. *The Tangle-Free brush roll still seems to wrap longer hairs and strings up. It was pretty easy to pull the hairs out though. Overall, I think this vacuum does a great job cleaning. Especially if you have kids and pets. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me to test out this awesome product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hey first off I been a Bissell only vacuum user for 32 years and I love the vacuum until I get two of these one was by accident but I kept it anyways before using them. I got them Through flex shopper in July and was so excited to get it I vacuum a lot I use a vacuum for every thing so I thought the canister removal and the wand would be a great extra cleaning tool but you literally have to hold the canister when it's off the base because it will not sit In place due to the suction it slings the base into your legs your back I've gotten bruises all over my body it's just would not be a vacuum for a older persons it can really hurt you. If im standing still in an open room and do got get a solid suction on a curtain or floor then your ok but getting into small spaces like behind a washer or drier in cabinets beside stuff it won't go due to the hose hook think they have on the extension for when the vacuum is not running or is vacuuming with the cleaner that keeps the hose in place. I would rather have the hose sap a little as to not be able to reach places that really need vacuumed it's just in bad design: the suction is good but where they put the little switch for levels of suction it's easy to push it down they notches it Just slides up and down so it's a aggrevating jssue too . It just wears you out all together I'm so mad and upset after cleaning with them afterwards i do not like them less than the time before but I blew up my old pet rewind which is the best one so far and oh yeah the cord isn't automatic rewind you have to do it old school . My opinion they was not much thought out into those little things that can make or break a vacuums popularity
