Poor Desigh Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this off the Bissell site thinking it was the best canister and that the design would nail what customers who actually vacuum need. This machine came promptly and is light weight, but has a smaller head and bagless chamber than the one I was replacing. Assembly was easy, yet directions were scant. After using it twice I realized the main handle and tube does not stand by itself, so if you need to move something in the course of vacuuming and take your hand off the main handle, rod and tube all come crashing down to the floor or hit something on the way down. You cannot store this machine with the handle standing, but must use a shabby slot on the back. Also the handle itself does not have an on/off button. Rather the user must push a button on the main part of the machine and not let go of the handle, as it will fall and hit whatever is in its path. Also, I have found that it's pretty difficult to open the bottom of the dustless container. So far, I've have to almost pry it open. These features are essential for the user/customer, but ignored in the design of this vacuum-Why?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Pet Hair remover!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum a few times so far. PROS: It's great for hardwood floors and awesome for my carpeted stairs! I have 3 cats and it works like a charm getting up the hair! The canister type is user friendly for stairs because the hose extends pretty far so I'm not constantly fighting with the heaviness and bulkiness of a full size vacuum on each step. CONS: Wish there was a place to clip the attachments for convenience. I know they'll get lost. I also found the vacuum difficult to use in a carpeted room as it was hard to push. Overall, I really like it because my main concern was my 2 flights of carpeted stairs and the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser made it a lot easier and the suction is very good and adjustable. It also has an auto sensor that detects what type of floor you're vacuuming!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 8 long hair dogs in our house. This vacuum is lightweight and does well in helping our home look its best. There are three things I do not like about it though. First, there is no onboard storage which makes it hard to keep tools close while vacuuming. Second, the wand is hard to separate from the extension on the bottom connection point. Both my husband and I have to pull hard to get it to come apart. Third, the canister quick release empty the canister does not open easily and when we are able to get it open the dirt and dust blow out of the canister. Both the second and third items make me want to return the product as we both are elderly people and do not like to have to struggle to use a product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With 2 cats that shed constantly, finally finding a vacuum that is effective at removing it from carpet has been a game changer. The brush head is small enough to fit in places my previous vacuum wouldn't fit, and the extendable tube means I can get all the way under the bed. My only 2 negative thoughts: the hose/handle is a little wobbly for my liking, and there is no onboard storage (that I can find) for the 2 additional tools. I will eventually make a pouch that I can Velcro to the upright.

A Must Have For Multi-Pet Homes

While the vacuum is a bit tough to maneuver, the cleaning power is phenomenal. I had to empty a full canister three times for a living area we vacuumed every day with out old vacuum. It is relatively easy to use and very sturdy. A must have for keeping pet hair at a minimum.

Takes getting used to

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first, I was not a fan of this vacuum. We have one that propels much easier so that was odd. After using it for a few days - WOW! I can't believe how much cat hair my vacuum was missing. It really felt gross, but satisfying, to look at. When emptying, I haven't once had to reach in the canister like I have to with mine, which is great. It works wonderfully on my hardwood and carpet, but will not work on my rugs unless I adjust the power. OH! I love that you can adjust the power or leave it to sense the floor type. The cord is amazingly long and the cord rewind feature is absolutely invaluable! It's definitely different than what I'm used to, since it's a canister, but it's a keeper, for sure!
