I originally bought this as my four cats shed a lot and now that I lived in an apartment that required a certain amount of carpeting my prior vacuum just didn't do well on the cat hair in the carpet. I was originally annoyed with how heavy this was and how difficult to empty the canister although that got a little better over time. However, and a company that promotes to pet owners should have thought of this, I inadvertently sucked up a cat toy with the hose and it is jammed into the curved part and I can't get it out (I have tried numerous times to shove long sticks, etc. down there) to the point where the suction is now compromised. So I either have to get a new ($53) hose or take this one to a hardware store which I can't because of COVID! Very annoying. I've only had this for a few months and feel like it's been a major hassle rather than a positive addition. I did try to contact Bissell to see if warranty would cover a new hose but I have not had a response.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

However when I use it on the area rug in my living room I find that it really doesn't life the pile and is very hard to push. I did reduce the suction power and it does not make a difference.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is amazing. It is quieter than our old one. It takes on all kinds of dirty messes on the floor and windowsills and corners. I wish they had a tool holder but they are small enough to put in a large pocket. This machine is so much easier to clean. Plus we don't have to hassle with tangled hair and threads in it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser for about 2 weeks now. It has its pros and cons. The suction power on it is fantastic! I actually have to use it on its lowest setting as it is that powerful. I have no complaints. But the hose on it is very cheaply made. It gets twisted and kinked very easily. Also there is no place on the sweeper to store the two attachments that came with it. Annoying.
