Decent Pet Hair Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a decent little pet hair vacuum that won't cost you an arm and a leg. It has very strong suction and gets up a lot of dirt and pet hair. Pros: lightweight, wheels easily, follows you easily, retractible cord is mess free, rotating brush button, easily fits under furniture better than my regular vacuum for a deeper clean. Cons: super difficult to open the canister to empty it, the "push to empty" button required two hands to open and after a significant amount of difficulty compared to other vacuums I've used, it seems like fine dirt would build up quickly inside the machine and the canister. It's also difficult to maneuver the wand with rolling brush across rugs and carpet, but I think this is because the suction is so strong, you can't be quick with it. It probably gets more dirt up this way. I had written a much more detailed review, but the page refreshed and I lost all of it. Also, this review form required me to choose a con from a list of cons and none of them really applied, so I just chose short time before refill, which is true, but it's not much shorter time than any other vacuum I've used.

I was going to buy another Miele, but seeing the commercials for the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, and being the rescue parents of two beautiful orange tabbies, my husband and I decided to purchase this vacuum. It is AMAZING! We could not believe what it picked up! The only drawback is the canister doesn't have a compartment to store the tools. That would a welcome addition for the next generation of design. Overall, great vacuum and highly recommended. If you need a new vacuum, and especially if you have pets, this is the one to get!

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Is Best Overall!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never owned a Bissell, nor a canister type vacuum w cyclonic action. This Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Model 2230 blows all the stand/stick vacuums I have out of the water! It's easy to assemble, as well as change out accessories. (It included a crevice tool as well as a small brush head) There's a button to push to turn roller brush off & on. IT HAS LIGHTS! It has an extendable wand that works great for taller people & for reaching up to get cobwebs in corner ceilings and for window frames and any place you cannot reach standing on your tip toes. It's easy to lift off the canister, hang it over your trash bin and push a button and all the junk just falls into the trash. Let me tell you something about the suction power. I have two ginger cats that have fine soft fur, the kind that gets everywhere and flies through the air like dust particles. This Pet Hair Eraser sucked it off their cat beds like it was slurping spaghetti noodles. I have a wool high pile rug that no other vacuum can clean or suck up loose wool. This Bissell? I swear it looked like the day I bought it afterwards. It also works on hardwood floors, low pile carpet, any type of flooring and adjusts itself to the height. It has a swivel head and lays down flat so you can lay it down to get under your entire bed or under chairs while you can see with the lights! It has a button to auto retract the cord and adjustable suction power and comes with an extra filter. Overall? This is better than any of the multitudes of vacuums I've bought in the past 25-30 years. I used to love my stick vacuums. No longer. This Bissell picks up cat fur, my hair, cat litter particles and everything off the floor. I am now a Bissell girl forever
