Teaching my teenage daughters to sew. This machine is very user friendly. So easy to use and able to handle thick fabrics.

Love the ease and simplicity of this machine!! I took a step back from a computerized machine i had the last 10 years. I truly love it!!

I have only had my new Singer sewing machine for a few weeks but it has worked great even when sewing through several layers of fabric. It is one of the less expensive models but I did not need a lot of bells and whistles. I was taught to sew on a Singer machine, my mother used the same black Singer her entire life. My sister has it now and I'm sure it still works today.

I bought the Heavy Duty 4411 and over all I really like it. The only problem I see is that it came with an LED light directly connected to the machine. I was curious on how to change the light should it "go out", so I looked it up in the manual. The manual displays a "screw in" light bulb, which is an easy way to replace it - too bad I do not have this option. I have no idea how this light can be replaced if it goes out.

The LED light was a running change made during production. If looks like you have a version of the manual that was not revised. The LED light assembly will last many hours compared to a standard bulb. Also the LED does not generate heat so sewing and having your hands near the needle area will be more comfortable. A request to have the newer LED version of the manual has been submitted to the webmaster.

The only negative i have is the way to fill a bobbin. My old machine had a simplier way.

Singer brand sewing machines are the best. I learned on one and when my old one finally broke after 20 years. I had to get another singer. Great sewing machines...
