I have a long history of industrial experience, doing upholstery work. I bought this machine about 8 months ago and have used it almost daily for 8 months. The only time I get frustrated is when it's my own fault. I have run 10 layers of fabric, or 6 layers with the both hook and loop sides of Velcro, or 6 layers, going over zipper teeth with no problem. I can honestly say I've abused this machine and didnt expect it to last this long, to date have far more than got my money's worth, but it's still running great. The feed dogs and motor don't labor at all while running all of this stuff through it. It doesn't have all the features for "foo-foo" applications such as "needle down" and other computerized functions,it doesnt sew on its own, you have to use the pedal, but it's an absolute work horse and I would recommend it to anyone.

I haven't sewed anything for quite some time. I thought it would be fun to get back into it so I bought a familiar name brand, Singer. Well, I had fun with it for a couple of days, then the feeder dogs stopped working. I called customer service and after being on hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes I got some help. We were on the phone for about 45 minutes before we got the feeder dogs working. Now today is the first time I have tried to sew anything since fixing it and it won't sew! Very frustrating. I really don't want to go back on the phone, the online help is no help at all and the closest Singer repair is 2 hours away. That's likely not going to happen. So be careful when you pick your sewing machine, Singer is not what it used to be.

I had the older heavy duty model before purchasing this one. The older model of this machine was very expensive and had problems that came from the high speed..However, I was glad to see that Singer ironed out the problems and was able to give us a great machine for almost half the price. The speed on this one is fast but not as fast as the other. But it has no tension problems or bobbin issues. Easier to use too! I sew a lot of garments... Ive worked this machine for 12 to 18 hours at a time. NO problems! Just clean it and keep moving.

Don't be afraid to use this machine on fabric thickness because it will handle it. Hemmed many pairs of jeans and the needle didn't break once. The only thing I'm not crazy about with the machines today is the reverse button is on the front of the machine. It's easier to use when it's on the side, it just feels unnatural being on the front. But overall I love the machine.

It's a good machine my only critique is the needle placement is off center which makes me worry about larger zig zags i just dont have funds to send it off to be fixed. i miss the push button reverse stitch off to the right like most singers. Lastly the zipper foot needs to be longer and narrower in future. it would be nice to make that available for current owners. the machine very quiet sewing and sews fast and smooth. accepts all types of threads.

So basically this is a machine I was looking for. After reading reviews, buying it seemed like a gamble - either it will work perfectly or break. At first it seemed to work correctly, but after couple of small sewing projects, needle position is stuck in right position.

As a retired basic beginner who is SLOWLY remodeling a home, I found a Singer machine online that would allow me to work at my own pace and save money. My initial objective was to create cafe curtains and valences and I discovered that by sewing my own would pay off the machine after only sewing a few sets (and I have many to do). The 'rating' may increase as I become more familiar with the Singer 4411, but right now it seems to be the ideal machine to begin on.the
I have only had my new Singer sewing machine for a few weeks but it has worked great even when sewing through several layers of fabric. It is one of the less expensive models but I did not need a lot of bells and whistles. I was taught to sew on a Singer machine, my mother used the same black Singer her entire life. My sister has it now and I'm sure it still works today.
