I started sewing at age 8 yrs. old after watching my mother and grandmother. I started on my grandmother's old Singer treadle machine and have used many different machines - all Singers! - since. This is by far my favorite one! I've waited 69 years for it! It's light weight, quiet, easy to operate and can any type of sewing I could ever throw at it. A sewer's dream come true!!
I purchased the lower end of the heavy duty machines. It does all the basic stuff and does it well. I just needed a machine to make small projects like placemats, masks, holders for crochet needles, etc. It's much better than the cheap light weight plastic machines, although this one isn't too heavy, but certainly not made of all plastic either.
The machine arrived with the timing off, making it impossible to thread the bobbin. Luckily my husband was able to fix it with the help of some Youtube videos.

I'm happy with the machine it's working perfectly for what I use it for. Customer service is non-existent I have been waiting over three weeks for a response despite multiple emails.
After 40 years of serving me well, my Singer machine died. No way to repair it. I needed something heavy duty since I work on all thicknesses of fabrics, but I wanted a no fuss, non-computerized machine similar to what I had. I love this machine! It is simple and straightforward, just enough extra stitches (I don't embroider or make quilts), had a nice carrying handle (though I have a bag) and is a pleasure to use.

I needed to sew some pretty heavy wicker fabric to redo my sling style patio furniture. I borrowed the neighbors machine, and it took several hours to sew one sling. It just wasn't cutting it, so I went online, and ordered this HD 4411. Now I will probably never use it again, but at least I have it if I need it, and I know that no matter what the job, this machine will breeze right through it. I was able to finish 8 more slings in about 90 minutes. If it can handle that fabric as easily as it did, then it should handle just about anything. Even if I never use it again, it was well worth the price just by saving me the headache of plodding through the job with an unfit machine.

Bought this machine as a birthday present for my 14 yr old granddaughter who is learning to sew & loves it. After 2 mos of use had to return the machine to the store. Clerk there sent it out for repair but said "what do you expect from a throw away machine?", I said, I expected to use it for a few years not 2 mos & have it in the shop already!!!! It wasn't a throw away machine when she sold it to me. Turned out it needed to be oiled & adjusted. Still not acceptable for only having it 2 mos!!!!
