The reason I am giving this product a two star rating is because I am having a lot of trouble loading the threading the bobbin. I bought the 4411 only a month ago and used it just once. The first time I could thread the bobbin with no problem. This time I have spent three hours trying to thread the bobbin and it keeps jamming. Help Singer!

I've had to buy 2, breaks easily

Pros: It's awesomely fast and zips through most fabrics without any issue. It's sturdy and easy to use and WHEN it's working I actually enjoy using it very much. CONS: Because the machine claims to be heavy duty you would think that you could sew heavy duty fabrics like denim, you would be wrong. My 1st machine's timing for the belt (for the top thread to be caught by the hook under the bobbin to make a stitch) was thrown off by trying to sew through 2 layers of denim. My 2nd one now has the same problem but instead of it being caused by something heavy like denim this time it couldn't seem to handle a jersey knit, after ONLY 4 DAYS!!! The bobbin tension is also very temperamental and thread kept getting caught under the foot plate, again with just jersey. This machine is better than my first, a Singer Quick Fix (which to its credit is the only Singer I've had that hasn't broken but is equally as temperamental), but I will definitely rethink Singer during my next machine purchase. For the price of this model it absolutely is not worth the hassle of working around 2 broken machines.

It's JUST RIGHT! Powerful enough to sew through multi-layers of denim as advertised; easy to carry; attachments included. I love it. It replaced a l961 Singer.

I am a Sewing Teacher and have been provided with this Heavy Duty machine to use in my classsroom. Overall the product is a good value and has all that is required for classroom instruction. However these machines are put through the test everyday, twice a day so they are well used. A few problems that have come up while using these machines are that the thread comes out of the take up lever and when continue to sew the machine gets jammed. The fact that the needle plate cover is totally removable does not lend itself well to the classroom setting as I have students who take them out and have lost a number of these plate covers and I am having a hard time tracking down replacement parts for this machine. The students play with the button to remove the needle plate cover and some are losing their spring to pop up as well.I have also lost a number of the auxillary spool pins as the students remove them or they break off easily.I like using the auxillary spool pin rather than the horizontal spool pin so that I dont have to give the students the part to hold on the thread when using the horizontal spool pin as this would be just another part that may go missing. Also the removable storage unit in the front of the machine has broken off the small plastic hinges that hold it in place.

I just purchased my new machine about a month or so ago and I love, love, love it!..I went with the Singer brand because its the brand my Mother and Grandmother trusted....and now I know why....It sews so effortlessly and is easy to thread!...I named him Greyson; he's so tough I just knew he had to be a "boy"! (smile)...I love the way it can sew sheer to leather with no problem...the price was economical as well; under $140.00... and it's just an overall great machine! Thanks Singer!

Timing problems and birdnesting. Machine won't sew
on July 26, 2020

After sewing about 4 feet perfectly, this machine became a nightmare. The timing went off, which I fixed, but nothing stops the thread jamming up around the bobbin or under the fabric. I've spent hours threading, rethreading, different fabrics, threads, needles. Nothing works. After making 1 pillowcase with my brand new machine, it looks like it can't be made to sew. So disappointed in Singer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dear Scott, We’re so sorry to hear about your experience with the Heavy Duty 4411. We appreciate all of the attempts you've made to remedy the problem and we would like to help trouble-shoot the problem or replace the sewing machine. Please email us at https://www.singer.com/Contact-Us and one of our Customer Care agents will follow up with you. Thank you for the opportunity to make this right.
Though the 4411 only just arrived it was easy to set up and sew a mending project in 15 minutes. Happy with the purchase.
