Great Machine

I would say this machine is great to take to classes or just to sew with friends. I quilt and make lots of crafts it has been great my only problem is it the thread comes out of the Needle up and down rod to often so then it won't sew right and I have to look and yes of course it came out. But other than that I love it. Sews through leather and all heavy stuff.

Not what I expected

Bought this machine as a birthday present for my 14 yr old granddaughter who is learning to sew & loves it. After 2 mos of use had to return the machine to the store. Clerk there sent it out for repair but said "what do you expect from a throw away machine?", I said, I expected to use it for a few years not 2 mos & have it in the shop already!!!! It wasn't a throw away machine when she sold it to me. Turned out it needed to be oiled & adjusted. Still not acceptable for only having it 2 mos!!!!

Very Poor!

This machine was purchased in January, and I did not use it till April. In the first three weeks it was fine, but after that it refused to sewing a straight line and the threads were loose and always bunching at the bottom stitch. I looked over the manual and played with the tension but it still would not work properly. I'm very disappointed in this purchase, and all I sew is plain Muslin, so this is the last time I buy a Singer sewing machine!

So far I have used this HD machine several times , I have not been disappointed - in fact - it is my go to sewing machine the majority of the time. I would highly recommend this sewing machine. Great job Singer Co. !

Don't go cheap 2!

This my second review on your site. You did not care about the first one, but you requested a review, so maybe. But I doubt it. I think Singer just does not want bad news. Well then change the 4411 or take it off the market. I don't understand how you can ever get a good review on it, unless they just don't use the machine. Buy a better model folks, this one is too cheap. The timing mechanism fails the first time and every time you use the machine. Top thread does not pick up the bobbin thread. The shaft where the needle goes, actually can move. The repairman has had my machine longer than me. Would have been great for the value, if it wasn't so cheap.

Don't be afraid to use this machine on fabric thickness because it will handle it. Hemmed many pairs of jeans and the needle didn't break once. The only thing I'm not crazy about with the machines today is the reverse button is on the front of the machine. It's easier to use when it's on the side, it just feels unnatural being on the front. But overall I love the machine.

my chief complaint is threading the bobbin is a bit confusing per the video and more often than not when you back stitch you end up with 4 threads instead of 2, my sewing teacher says she has found this to be a problem with this machine with her other students too.

Awesome machine!

I have a long history of industrial experience, doing upholstery work. I bought this machine about 8 months ago and have used it almost daily for 8 months. The only time I get frustrated is when it's my own fault. I have run 10 layers of fabric, or 6 layers with the both hook and loop sides of Velcro, or 6 layers, going over zipper teeth with no problem. I can honestly say I've abused this machine and didnt expect it to last this long, to date have far more than got my money's worth, but it's still running great. The feed dogs and motor don't labor at all while running all of this stuff through it. It doesn't have all the features for "foo-foo" applications such as "needle down" and other computerized functions,it doesnt sew on its own, you have to use the pedal, but it's an absolute work horse and I would recommend it to anyone.
