I got this for Christmas from my grandma and made two tops and a dress in my first week! I am so obsessed with knowing how to sew now and this machine is so user friendly, I can find a video for everything I need! I highly recommend this machine for young beginners and intermediates. I can imagine this serving me well for years!

I bought this machine a couple years ago and love it. My sister then bought one because she quilts and loves it as well. So when my Grandaughter called and told me she wanted to learn and was going to buy a used one I immediately bought and her one for her Christmas gift. She is using it. She made her first baby quilt for her best friend with no experience on machine. She loves it too. It's so easy to operate.

It will not stay in regulation - stitching has a tight thread on one side, and gazzillioons of loops getting caught on everything on the other side. I have had 3 Singers that worked well, and when the 3rd, non-black, with fancier stitches finally broke enough, i bought this Heavy Duty 4411 machine. I paid a lot for it, and have been able to sew almost nothing - It always needs regulation. It hates every type of thread, and it hates changing the thickness of the fabrics chosen. I'm actively looking for ANY brand, but NEVER AGAIN SINGER because of the 4411.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stop Hating on Singer Heavy Duty

Okay I know everyone hates on Singer and specifically Heavy Duty models, but I absolutely love my 4411. I've had it for almost 2 years, with only a small amount of issues. Of those issues, it was usually user error or I was able to make adjustments with out taking it in. There's a certain amount of responsiblity when it comes to owning a sewing machine and a huge part of that is taking the time to know your machine inside and out. Treat her nicely and respectfully and she'll reward you! I think many people don't take the time to troubleshoot and clean it before assuming it's broken. I had to learn this with my old White sewing machine and by comparision the 4411 sews like a dream. I'm only considering upgrading because I want a one step button hole, a tie off option, and a thread cutter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I barely used it and it immediately broke! My first project was an extremely light and thin favric so I didnt think it would give any pressure to the needle. I didnt even finish that project so I barely used it. The next time I used it, I was just tailoring dress pants. good thing i finished the waist and the needle suddenly wasnt aligned with the hole. I took it off, put it back on, adjusted it, and it still would end up on the platform instead of going in the hole. Then the needle ultimately flew off. This is just on the second time I used it. This is supposed to be the strongest :(
