So far so good! This is my first new sewing machine in 20 years! I love it. Is strong and not as noisy as my old machine. Super easy to thread and bobbin change. I am enjoying it. Looking forward to many more years of good service.
Having never used a machine before, I had trouble figuring out how to pull up the bobbin thread. But one really great thing about Singer machines is there are a lot of tutorials online. And in this glorious age of YouTube, it's better to go online and watch a demo than try to read an instruction manual. As a beginner, it's way more machine than I really needed. But it's solid enough to last a lifetime.
Good machine but the manual is a joke. If you use reading glasses, you'll also need a magnifying glass to see drawing details. It's hard to imagine why SINGER would think it's a good idea to save less than $1 by making the cheapest manual possible.
Replaced my previous Singer (c. 1980). I was wondering how much time it would take to get used to the new machine....hardly any at all. It is quiet, powerful and smooth. I have been sewing face masks so far, and I love it!
