Like a lot of folks, I've been making masks. My old Singer (really old) is getting some work done under the hood, so I borrowed a (brand shall not be named) sewing machine from a friend. It could not handle multi layers, so I decided that I wanted a beginner machine that I could pass on to a niece or nephew and teach then how to sew, I also needed a machine I could depend on to help the organizations I had promised masks to. This Singer was perfect. Enough to handle multiple layers and get the job done quickly.
I bought this machine and so far I have only been sewing cotton fabrics for mask. It is very loud and the thread is continuous jamming and tangling at the bottom stich like a bird nest. I always have to be adjusting the tension. I get frustrating at times. Not to user friendly
I have not sown in years and this machine was perfect. I have put it to the task of making masks and other simple items. Once I get my mojo back I will set to make my own clothes. This machine is simple to use yet heavy duty.
I brought this machine to make masks and work smocks. I have enjoyed this machine will definitely buy another one with more power and options. Also brought an overlock machine to try and make other things. Overall for what i needed this machine for it is been great
It has been difficult for me to use the machine because the auto threader was not attached. I have tried reaching the company but no one answers my emails and no one answers the phone. I am disappointed with the machine and the service.
Getting back to sewing and singer machine after almost 30 years. I am very happy with this modeL although I would love to have self threading feature! This is a disadvantage. For basic fixes and nonprofessional sewing there is no need for better model.
Great machine, it's taken a little bit to get used to it, but wow I wish I would have upgraded years ago! I had great experience for my purchase and shipping, thank you Singer!
