[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High quality machine with the ability to sew through thick durable materials without breaking needles. Great for working on hobbies no matter what material you sew. Can't wait to enjoy my winter experimenting with different hobbies. Love it highly recommended
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to work with

I have 3 deferent brands for other Serger Machines that I work with, and this is the only one that can work with heavy cotton fabric. To me works excellent. It is a pity you do not have it in stock, I need one more.

Disappointing

I received this as a christmas gift from my husband and we are both really disappointed. Almost impossible to get the thread tension right, and garments made with it look poorly made no matter how many adjustments we make.
This was supposed to be an upgrade after my old faithful machine finally died after 12 years but so far its just been frustrating and a real let down. Definitely not the standard I expect from singer

Why do the manuals still look 1980s?
on February 7, 2021

I got this serger and it's ok. Still easier to thread than my 1980s JCPenney serger. The funny thing is Singer doesn't give you a printed manual anymore, which, fine. But why are your digital manuals still in black and white?! And why are the graphics SO BAD. I have no idea what I'm looking at. Troubleshooting is impossible. You know it's 2021 right? Yall can use color photos now. Even better, you can make video tutorials showing us how to use the machines we've invested in.
Otherwise it's a pretty sturdy machine. I like that it's mostly metal.

Nice Machine for the price
on November 18, 2020

I purchased this machine in April to reduce the wear and tear on my pro-finish. It has taken a bit to get use to, BUT I prefer this machine for mask making over my pro-finish. As with any serger at this price, threading can be a challenge. However, I like it enough that I will be purchasing another one for my business. I like the performance of the is machine. It is fast, efficient, and sews a really nice seam.

Awful design

I've been a Singer customer for over 40 years. My last serger lasted over 20 years. I replaced it with this one. The accessory bin (also the piece you take off to do smaller things) doesn't come off without turning the machine over and prying it with a screw driver. Having the huge bump out makes threading the machine impossible. The lower looper is the most aggravating thing in all of sewing to thread even with the bin off. Unlike my previous machine, there is no way to get to the hole where the thread has to go on the looper arm. There's a way to get the thread back there and hope and pray it does what it's supposed to do, but you can't see because it's inside the machine. Lastly, the way the 'hooks' are that you put the thread under where it comes off the cone allow the thread to wrap around the wires and become jammed, causing the thread to break and have to rethread the machine over and over again. Also, the loops hang out over the fabric edges once sewn. I've noticed this happens after sewing thick pieces of material, and going back to two pieces of cotton makes it hang out over the edges. Rethreading the machine (the horror described above) is the only way to fix it, until the next thicker layers are sewn. I've never ever considered buying another brand until now. I would never in a million years consider recommending this machine to anyone. All the local places that service sewing machines charge a lot more for Singers, and also give you a lectures about buying one. I guess this is why.
