Rice Cooker

This pan is the perfect size for smaller quantities of rice, cereals, and grains. The cast iron is fabulous for absorbing liquids, and also keeps things nice and hot. I not only use this to cook in, but I also use as a serving piece because it so pretty, and keeps food at the perfect temperature.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Staub 1.5 quart petite oven is a wonderful addition to my kitchen, Did not realize all the ways I would be using this pan when I purchased it. My neighbor suggested I pick this up, instead of an electric rice cooker. Glad I took her advice! This pan achieves excellent results, and also can be used to make oatmeal, reheat foods, make couscous, risotto, and a multitude of other foods. This pan is not only so useful, but looks great on the table and cooktop.

The BEST rice!! Great pot

Once you get timing down & figure out nothing needs to cook above med heat, it’s all good! Makes great rice & so happy I bought it. I’m gifting one to my niece… but I might need a second one myself dedicated to other grains or beans. Don’t hesitate on this Staub pot. Love all my Staub pots. I did “season” it like you would raw cast iron & now it’s super non stick too!

I didn't buy a defective damaged product, but a normal discount product, but a defective pot came and I got an exchange, but a pot with a more severe defect came. I'm really disappointed. I'm using it because I'm lazy to get an exchange, but I'm really upset It would be better to just buy defective products from the beginning. Whatever you order, defective products come. I want to show you the picture of its defection.

Great little cast iron pot, perfectly sized as a rice cooker or oatmeal maker. The pot has the curved basting spikes that will work beautiful for soaking, cooking and steaming bothe rice and oatmeal. Surprising how often it gets used.
