[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kinda wild that a “rocking” Santoku is the knife that would become my knife of choice. I cook daily and this was the knife I used to fuel my culinary endeavour towards the best cook in my city
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a beautiful knife. The handle fits well in my hand and is solid. It is well balanced and feels like an extension of my hand. The knife is incredibly sharp and glides through what I'm cutting.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this knife to upgrade my older zwilling santoku knife. The handle is beautiful and the weight is very well balanced. The blade is also very nice and sharp. Another great product from Zwilling.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky to pick up this knife on a sale. I am so happy I did. It is sharper than any knife I’ve had and it is beautiful to look at. I can never go back to using cheap knives ever again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 4th knife from this collection. I have used them daily now for the past year, and I have yet to sharpen any of them. One of the first two knives I received as a gift last year that I use the most (8" chef?) still easily cuts soft tomatoes without any effort. I have cut everything you'd expect to dull a blade such as potatoes, carrots, onions with the peel on, and all types of tough meat, etc. I am researching sharpening options, and techniques, but you will definitely need to think about a quality sharpener for these knives.
Beyond their capabilities, I hand wash them and avoid abrasive sponges or acidic cleaners as these will dull the finishes. The finish of the blade is easy to clean, and the craftsmanship of the handle and blade seem to be of extremely high quality compared to anything I've handled. The shape of the grip is very comfortable. I usually apply a small amount of food grade oil to the handles after washing as the coating on the wood is a little thin. I have seen zero evidence of any discoloration or rust after a year of constant usage and cleaning.
I will continue to collect more of these particular knives - I like them that much. My opionion on the usage of these is more for home chefs - Not so much for commericial usage as they are a little more ornate. I don't think you can go wrong with these knives - I expect them to last a very long time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the 7 Inch Rocking Santoka to add to an existing knife set. The first experience holding the knife is impressive. The quality and feel are noticeable. The handle shape fits my hand better than a simple handle design. This shape makes the knife easy to control. The edge is excellent, and I found myself only using this knife. I have since upgraded all of my knives to Miyabi Artisan.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a gift. I use it all the time. Very durable and good balance on the knife. The handle feels great in my hand. It's very sharp
