Hammered finish of the razor sharp blade provides air pockets allowing food to release from blade with each use. Handle designed in Rosewood has a comfortable shape for effortless cutting. Added details with red and brass spacers. A real beauty!

Beautifully crafted Miyabi

Another great knife by Miyabi that is almost too beautiful to use. The hammered steel is so unique and the sharp blade glides through food. This perfect combination of a chef knife and santoku makes every prep task more fun and easy to do. The belly of the handle fits so comfortably in my hand and though the knife is light in weight, it maintains the durability expected in an Asian knife.

The artisan has a very distinct handle that seems to fit my hand better than other knives I’ve tried. The Rocking Santoku is easily my favorite blade shape as it’s extremely sharp and quick when cutting. The hammered finish makes this knife really stand out from any other knife I’ve ever had. It’s definitely one you’ll want to display.

My husband rocks and I tend to chop so this is a great compromise. It is so incredibly sharp. The handle is not only gorgeous but really comfortable.

Not all santokus are created equal

I love this knife even though I don't use a rocking santoku that often. I chop. My mother and grandmother chopped. So the nuances of a rocking santoku can be lost on me, but not with this knife (see also Miyabi Birchwood and Miyabi Black).
This a well balanced santoku with enough stability to get through larger produce - Italian eggplant, large artichokes, butternut squash. The 7" length is just right and the elegant arc is just right for finer slicing.
And this knife is beautiful. The pounded SG2 steel stays bright and shiny. The wood handle is durable and steady in my hand. Love, love, love it!

If you like cooking and are cutting/prepping almost every day, then this is worth every penny and then some. I could immediately tell the difference with how sharp this thing is. Slicing through vegetables takes almost zero downward force. A soft, simple slicing motion is all it takes to achieve clean, uniform cuts. And as an added bonus, it’s absolutely beautiful! Truly a work of art and just staring at it gives me pleasure.

These knives are unbelievable craftsmanship. I picked up one of these bad boys as a Christmas gift. They are so sharp, I just hope nobody cuts themselves.
