Beautiful and functional

5000 MCD 6 inch chef knife

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of my good friends in high school bought me this knife for me as a graduation present, since I want to pursue culinary as a career. I’ve been using this knife constantly at work, the knife is still very sharp (as long as you hone it properly). When I first picked up the knife I noticed the more d shaped handle and being a lefty I was a bit concerned about how it was going to feel in my hand, but to my surprise the knife fit very well and has been comfortable for me. Another thing I noticed when I first held the knife was that the knife didn’t have any lacquer finish, which I was used to from other knives. After using it at work I’ve come to love the fact that you get a more textured handle, it helps me grip and hold the knife better, where as the lacquered handles tended to slip at bit more. I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone who loves to cook and be in the kitchen wether they work in a professional kitchen or not.
