I had been wanting an upgraded chef's knife, and this one met my requirements of being highly rated, functional, and reasonably priced. It's the perfect balance of performance and affordability. It feels good in the hand and was perfectly sharp right out of the package. I highly recommend this knife for the home cook who needs quality without paying more than necessary to get that quality.

neede toget a chefs knife for my daughter, something that she could use without getting hurt from pushing too hard. Say this baby and found the price to be perfect. I was surprised when it arrived that it was a strong and sharp as it was. I may get her more if she is happy and uses it enough to warrent other sizes
