Was trying to replace a knife from a very old set, where the tip had broken off the blade; this one had the most similar handle (no rivets). Very cheap knife; should have known better. We will use it, but it is not what I hoped it would be. Ordering on the internet can be deceiving.

Very handy for a single lady

I bought this knife because I live alone, and love to cook. I cook daily because I'm not one for leftovers! I need a knife that can cut, slice, dice and mince and this does the trick. The prep knife handles all the jobs a chef knife is used for, but is much smaller and much easier on the budget.
The knife is well balanced and has a bolster which adds some weight and comfort. The German steel is top of the line and stays sharp much longer than my previous knives. This knife has become an invaluable tool for me, and am so pleased with it's performance.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Feel very cheap, very sharp, in my hand I feel plastic and small handle my hand is not a big . I was aspecting for this price more quality. The handle has not rivets , in the pictures on FB are rivets .

Ridiculously small handle makes for a silly knife

Goodness what a silly knife! The handle is so small! As small as the Four Star paring knife I have. Not sure why I didn’t return it, it is so annoying. How can anyone use this knife for cutting anything like a carrot or a piece of meat I do not know. The blade, while sharp, is even thinner than my paring knife. No wonder it was on sale. Who would buy this thing?

I love this versatile 5.5" prep knife! The Four Star handle is extra comfortable and the blade stays super sharp for a long time. The knife is perfectly weighted and balanced.

A great alternative to a chef knife

This is my grandmother’s go to knife. This is a great alternative blade instead of having to use a chef. She really likes using a smaller blade for when she cuts and slices her food, and she loves how lightweight the prep is so she can hold it and it won’t get heavy in her hand after using it for an extended period of time. A well made stainless steel blade, this forged knife will hold up for a long time and stay sharp, so you don't have to worry about sharpening as often.

Great shape

Although I use a chef knife often, this has become a favorite. I love the shape of the blade. It's wide enough so you can use a cutting board and your knuckles don't crash onto the board. The soft material of the handle is really comfortable. I definatley recommend it is you are looking to add a knife to your collection.

Good Inbetween Knife

This prep knife is a good inbetween size. It can be used as a paring/utility knife for something small, while the wider heel of blade allows for chopping something larger on the cutting board. Good weight with molded comfortable handle.
