Handle not proportioned to size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a couple of smaller sizes cocottes, this 7 quart cocotte has the same size handles with that of the smaller ones which is not proportional to its body size. I just do hope the handle can withstand the weight once this cocotte is filled with food. Still, I’m happy with the product.

I have a Le Creuset braising pan, but this 7 qt. Cocotte is my third Staub product. Staub units are heavier with larger handles. I like the slightly "Retro" design of the lids which accommodate the self basting studs on the underside. The lid fits snugly over the pot so steam does not escape. The black interior which appears to be bare cast iron is actually ceramic coated just like the exterior, so there is no need to pre season. I apply a thin layer of peanut oil on the surface prior to cooking and after washing which yields a non stick surface.
