as a current Staub owner, I am already sold on the benefits of these pots. The shaped and fitted lid, the textured dark interior and the basting spikes inside the lid. What I am most impressed with on this pot is the size. I was afraid it might be unwieldy but it is very easy to maneuver and lift. the beautiful color marin or sapphire is so stunning to look at, the depth of color and the beautiful gloss sit so pretty on my stove top, all day long!

Big enough to feed an army!

I love that this pot is so large! Whenever I have a party, I make chili in this pot and it is great! Last winter I took this pot with me to a cabin with 2 other families and I made the best beef stew in this pot that feed a total of 16 people. It was great that I could start the stew on the stove and transfer this pot right to the oven to finish and the self basting spiked did their job with keeping the beef moist and not dried out.

7 quart is the perfect size for most families...and even restaurants. Large enough bottom to even seer...the deep blue is durable and attractive

I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens or baking a boule of sourdough bread. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. For baking bread the cast iron is perfect because it conducts heat so well, and retains the heat. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste whatever dish you are baking or roasting in the oven, all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Bread does come out perfect when baked in a staub and your chickens will come out juicy and golden brown.

Great Size

The 7 quart size is perfect for a larger family and one pot meals. The size allows you to have many options when it comes to cooking that you don’t get with the smaller versions. It can fit whole chickens, pot roasts, and even large loaves of bread. The versatility is incredible.

Perfect for Large Group Dinner

I use my cast iron to bake bread, cook soups, meat and veggies...there's just SO many uses for this cocotte. It's my go to piece when it's more than two of us for dinner....and usually that means 10 or more for our family. Staub cleans up so easily, browns so nicely and having the self-basting lid makes this cocotte the perfect choice for a large gathering for dinner. The piece is beautiful so your meal can be served directly from the oven to the table. Staub even has magnetized trivets and a cast iron trivet to make serving from the cocotte simple.

Big Pot for Big Jobs

I love Staub. The enamel coating on the cast iron takes away most of the muss and fuss. No seasoning, i can soak it and use soap and the colors are very stylish. I love the 7qt size I can cook enough for dinner and two lunches all at once. The braising bumps on the lid keeps everything I cook from drying out both on the stovetop and in the oven. An overall great product that now i cant imagine not owning.

Chili and Stews

I am cooking for a family of 7, and I needed something that would be large enough for meals as well as leftovers. We eat a lot of chili and stews which is what first attracted me to the pan. The dark interior is perfect for searing proteins and vegetables. Love the lid with the self basting spikes so I never have to worry about dry roasts or poultry.
Use on my induction cook top as well has the oven up to 500 degrees, because of the metal knobs. Also oven to table, which makes for less clean up. The pans are chip resistant and have a beautiful finish which is an added bonus. Can't wait to try the no knead bread that I read about in the Staub cookbook. May even be able to triple the recipe with a pan this size.
