Large & In Charge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 7qt round Flat Cocotte is perfect for cooking large recipes that require simmering, baking, oven roasting, etc. We bought the 7qt because most recipes inevitably undersell the size of the cooking vessel and you end up running out of room…not with this guy! Ample room for large quantities. We love it so much we’ll be buying a smaller 4qt soon.

The gray color was so beautiful that I was fascinated.
I already have a 5qt pot, but I bought this Staub because I wanted to cook more batches.

Love the subtle grey color of this cocotte. This pan has versatility written all over it. You can pan fry, deep fry, steam, braise and sauté in this pan. The textured black matte enamel interior allows for incredible browning and searing. Pan excellent heat retention and distribution. Tight-fitting lid locks in moisture keeping your flavor base intact. Enamel finish will not chip, crack, or rust.

This is the most versatile size; large enough for having a few people over, or a nice size for family to have leftovers. These are cooking machines!! You can prepare so many types of dishes, but it is well suited for a long braise in the oven or on the stove or for baking a loaf of homemade bread. The lid has dimples on the underside and those collect steam and drop the moisture back down into the vessel for wonderfully moist dishes that come out perfect every time! It is almost like you do not have to do anything, but can take all the credit for a beautifully prepared meal.

Solid, old-school Cocotte

7 quart vessels are the favorite of chefs and home-chefs alike. The graphite colour deepens from bottom-to-top...really neat look. enamel inside and out cleans super-well. Dimples inside lid help moisturize evenly.

This is one of my favorite colors for Staub. It is so beautiful and works for any time of the year. I love to have it sit out, because it looks that nice for guests. This is the perfect size for large family gatherings or holiday time. You can make a whole meal in this one cocotte.

Lovely color for a staub Cocotte. This vessel is a perfect size for sunday dinners or cooking for a crowd, not quite as unwieldy as the 9 or 13 but large enough to really make a showing. I love this color and the size as it will take on so many tasks, wit hease and grace!
