This knife is an absolutely gorgeous work of art. Unlike most art, this is actually useful! I mainly use this knife for surgically slicing meat, and just like its visual appearance it does an amazing job. It stays really sharp! I just hope I don't scratch the beautiful metal work. The handle is just as beautiful as the blade. I just need to issue 1 warning...these types of knives are extremely addictive. :-)

Elegance and Efficiency

Wonderful knife!! Impeccable edge. Glides through raw fish, meats, tomatoes effortlessly. And beautiful too. I love slicing with this knife. Use it often to prep tempura and sashimi, and for taking the rind off melons and oranges. Handle took a little getting used to, but husband likes the width.

Another beauty

My husband and I are enjoying the rocking santoku, but found we both wanted to use it. So as a solution we invested in a second Miyabi, this amazing chef knife. So incredibly beautiful to look at but just as functional.

A beauty to behold with the hammered finished blade and rosewood handle. Blade is super sharp and stays sharper longer. Handle shape makes for a very comfortable grip. Exceptional Japanese cutlery.

The Miyabi Artisan line are some of the most beautifully crafted knives out there. The 8" Chef Knife is certainly the most widely used in any kitchen and this hammered, ultra-sharp blade makes prep work a breeze. The bellied-handle is incredibly comfortable and allows for great control and precision.

An amazing Japanese knife

This knife is awesome. I love the look of this knife and how it has certain features that make it a true Japanese knife, like the mirrored finish aspect to the blade and the shape of the handle. I like that it’s a Cocobolo wood, really beautiful look that accents the blade perfectly. This knife cuts through anything with ease and smoothness, clean cuts every time. It has a nice balance to it as well, and contours nicely in your hand. The steel is really solid for a Japanese knife, so I’m not worried about the blade chipping down the road.
