The nakiri is quickly becoming one of my favorite knives, it is right up there with the santoku. I use this for cutting most of my vegetables and pretending that I am in an Iron Chef competiton! It makes quick work of prepping vegetables and I also use it on large mellons. Just a must have knife for the kitchen.

Koh is a beautiful knife, simplistic beauty and superior quality. FC61 fine carbide steel and our special double ice-hardening process make this a sharp and durable knife. The handle is is gorgeous and the pakkawood is moisture resistant, not water-proof, so does not go in the dishwasher. Narkiri knives are mutitaskers and can do so many of your tasks in the kitchen.

so cool to use!

I had never heard of, let alone used a Nakiri, but when I saw it I was intrigued. I use it much like I use my santoku but it's so much more fun and and the motion to use it is really fun to watch. I tend to chop back and down motion with this rather than the down and forward I use with my santoku. It has a great flat surface so you can use it to chop but it also has the ability to rock a bit as well. It's a beautiful profile and of course the handle with the red glass beading is absolutely my favorite, for looks and for comfort.

I am starting to grab my Nakiri blade more often now, it seems to do everything in the kitchen. This knife is a mixture of Geman engineering and traditional Japanese style.
Its made from FC61 steel, one of the toughest steels in the market place. I love the shape of the blade, it has just the right amount of curve to get through any project quickly.

Nakiri knives are one of my favorite shapes. It is a traditional knife in Japanese cooking; there isn't much that can't be done with this knife. This Miyabi Koh nakiri is one of the most beautiful and well suited for its tasks. Asian cooking involves a fair amount of prepping - pre-cutting of vegetables and proteins. This knife is a workhorse. Chopped soft vegs or hard, thinly sliced meat or chicken or cubes, this knife's sharpness is hat makes it so useful. It's edge was designed to hold. The proprietary steel that the blade is made from, the way it is made and all the hand work used to finish, sharpen and polish it ensures that this knife will be a joy to use for a life time.

I love to chop vegetables with this Nakiri knife it feels so sturdy and comfortable and the razor sharp edge slices through effortlessly. The Miyabi Koh series is made from FC61 steel which attains 61 on the hardness scale meaning it can retain it's sharp edge use after use. The mirror polished finish and traditional Japanese D shaped Pakkawood handle give this knife a clean comtemporary look.

Another fine Miyabi knife from the Koh line! You get the best of both worlds - German steel and engineering and Japanese craftsmanship for a superb knife that will last a lifetime. Thin blade and beautiful pakkawood handle that is comfortable and easy to control.
