I love all the Staub cocottes but this small oval is my new favorite. The natural properties of cast iron heat it evenly and hold the heat. The enamel coating means no seasoning and so much easier to clean. The matte interior gives superior browning and an easy release. The spikes on the underside of the lid redistribute moisture while cooking keeping everything nice and juicy. Its great on the stovetop and in the oven.

Perfect size for small portion dishes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for sautéing, baking or even warming up leftover food. I put cacao nibs on top of chocolate brownies and baked them in this pot in a countertop oven. When I took the lid off the pot, flavorful steam came from the brownies and they were moist and delicious. You can also use it to make little side dishes like sautéed green beans, steamed broccoli or a corn on the cob.
