This cleaver can get through meat, bone, tendons, really anything. It is made from German Special Formula Steel, also forged from one piece of steel so durable for a lifetime. It is also ice hardened so blade will stay sharper for a longer period. The handle is comfortable and lightweight, a nice option compared to other heavy handle knives.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice and heavy to get through any meat

I love using this cleaver to get through all different kinds of meat and the more weight of it make it easier. The handle is so comfortable and I can get a good grip on the knife so that I feel very secure.

Forged German stainless steel feels toe-balanced upon "swinging"...which is great when having to cleave a lot. The handle sits in palm well..no slippage.

I'm writing this review after watching my husband go to town on the ribs he wanted to smoke. It scared me a bit but he had always wanted a meat cleaver so this is the one that was recommended. First of all... IT IS HEAVY, but I think that's the point, it has cut thru chicken bones like they were styrofoam, and judging by the smile on his face did some serious work on those rib bones. The Four star knives have always been the best , this has now been added to the collection!

I enjoy having the right tools for the kitchen job so I'm glad I have my cleaver for those times I want to cut up a chicken or chop larger cuts of meat. It also has come in handy for melons and harder vegetables like squash. Because it is forged it feel sturdy using it for these hefty cutting tasks. Like all Four Star knives this one will retain its sharp edge longer than other knives due to the high quality steel.

Nice to have a 6" cleaver to use instead of a larger one! This one feels just right in my hand and makes it easy to maneuver for chicken, melons or even squash! It cuts right through bones and tendons. Made from German steel with the ice-hardening process, so stays sharp, durable and rust and corrosion free. Super comfortable handle!

This great cleaver can chop through a chicken bone with the greatest of ease. It makes breaking down a chicken a simple, quick process. It has a lighter handle so it's not too heavy to use chopping larger vegetables, like cabbage or a hard squash.
Four Star is forged from high carbon German steel and made in Germany just like Pro so you get incredible sharpness, great edge retention and a knife that's going to last a lifetime.
