Effortless Cutting but Requires Extra Care

This knives set makes a wonderful addition to any kitchen, especially for newlyweds like my wife & I. The blades are very sharp, offering precise cuts with minimal effort (especially for an intermediate cook like myself). Their lightweight builds make frequent usage a breeze, a crucial feature when prepping for big family dinners or just cooking daily for a spouse. However, they do have a downside—susceptibility to rust…. While durable in many ways, extra care is needed to keep them in optimal condition. Overall, a solid 4/5 stars for these high-performing yet not-quite-invincible kitchen essentials.

Modern looking and effortless

Self sharpening blocks can be disappointing in the quality of the knives and the sharpeners can feel rough and awkward.
Not so with this block. The knives are great looking, well balanced, feel great in your hand and cut well. The sharpening mechanism is super smooth. Sometimes I can't even feel the knife passing through the sharpeners. Plus it makes a really cool sound!
Nice to always have a sharp knife to cut with and never have to worry about proper maintenance.

Never think about your knives again!

Well, think about them when you are going to cook. But only then, because this set comes with a knife block that maintains your edges for you. No worrying if the knives are sharp, or what you need to do to keep them that way. Use them, replace them, use them, replace them. Boom. You're done!
And this set has just about every knife you will ever need. Prep knives and beautiful steak knives. You are set.
For the record, I never thought I would be a fan of an all metal knife. But like many things these days, I'm an old dog learning new tricks. This knife - this entire line - rocks! And it looks good too!
These are fully forged knives - a sign of top quality. They are made with one of Zwilling's proprietary steels - so they won't stain, they will stay sharp. And they are designed for comfort with optimal sized grips for most people. They are also lighter than most knives. So if weight is an issue for you, you will like these knives.

If you do not like sharpening your knives then this is the perfect consideration for you. The slots that sharpen are for the knives that are not serrated as serrated knives do not need to be sharpened. Great configuration with this block set as well, with some of the most used knives in the kitchen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my eyes on this sleek, modern set for our kitchen. The self-sharpening feature is a huge bonus as no one wants a dull knife. Each knife feels solid and well-balanced in your hand. Cutting is a breeze no matter what you’re slicing through. Be sure to avoid the dishwasher; hand wash and dry these beauties and use a wooden or plastic cutting board. A wonderful additional to our kitchen.

Sleek update to my kitchen
