What a lovely set

This block set is so beautiful. I love the color of the wood block and appreciate that each slot is specified for a certain knife. I never have to worry about getting the blades professionally sharpened either because this block takes care of that, without over sharpening. These knives are so low maintenance and are perfectly weighted and ultra comfortable while looking great!

I really love the modern look of the stainless steel and the wood block, looks great on any countertop! The knives are a great German stainless steel construction, and the fact it’s seamlessly the same look from blade to handle is a great. Also the fact that you don’t have to sharpen your knives because the block will do it for you is definitely worth purchasing.

I am crazy about this knife set for a bunch of reasons. One, it’s as good-looking as I hoped, based on the pictures. Two, the knives are SO sharp, and I believe they’ll stay that way thanks to the self sharpening block. Three, I won back a bunch of drawer space in my kitchen, by getting rid of most of my huge mish-mash collection of knives. I could goon and on, but I think you get the idea. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These knives are amazing!! This is my first “real” set and I landed on these to take the leap!!! Ohhh my these are amazing!!! I was hand washing them and not paying attention, shredded the cleaning pad on accident! So sharp! The built in sharpeners are awesome! I have always hated that part and now it happens for me every time I get one out. Magic!!! Love these things, they are built like a tank and made from German steel super high quality. Bought these because others said they had sets for decades and still going strong, now I see why. No regrets here , don’t hesitate!

Beautiful Awsome Knives

They came very sharp right out of the box plus the built in ceramic sharpener keeps them sharp with every use. The knives are full tang and the balance is great while the texture on the handles is just right and the ergonomics are great. The color of the dark stain on the hardwood base is very beautiful. The logo stamped on the end cap gives some added flare. This is our second Henckels knife set, our first was the 15 piece set from the "Statement" line.

WHAT A DISCOVERY!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I have enjoyed cooking forever. Central to our love of cooking, we always aim to have good quality utensils, especially knives. To keep our knives sharp we invested in top-of-the-line sharpening tools, and periodically we also send our knives to be sharpened professionally. Despite these efforts recently we noticed some dullness creeping in on our knives, and have been discussing the need to replace them. We starting researching online looking for good ; lo and behold, my wife came across a HENCKELS "Modernist' set that included a built-in sharpening mechanism in the storage block. This sounded intriguing. Not only that, but we have had a Henckel's carving set for many years that is a delight to use when I cook filet of beef or similar cuts of meat. Being familiar with the brand, we knew Henckel offers excellent quality, but the simplified sharpening process added an extra dimension. So, we ordered our Henckel Modernist knife set, which includes a Chef's knife, a utility and a paring knife, and a hollow-edge Santoku knife, plus six steak knives, and shears. In the brief two weeks since our Henckel knife set arrived, we have fallen in love with this set. The monolithic all-metal construction is superior to knives with handles of a different material, and it gives the knives a superior balanced feeling when you use them. The edge was extremely fine and sharp right out of the box, and it has kept razor sharp thanks to the ingenious built-in sharpening mechanism. The bread knife and steak knives are equally joyful to use.
It may sound funny, but my wife and I find ourselves thinking of new recipes to try so we can use our knives. The Santoku knife is a new experience for us, but as we learn to use it, it is opening new horizons for our cooking experiences.
