Wouldn't cook without one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Staub Cocotte's have become a staple in my kitchen. The sear I get on meats in these things is AMAZING! From stove-top straight to oven, these workhorses are what make my cooking so amazing. LOVE IT!!!

Perfect Pot

Dark interior does a great job browning, crisping, searing meats and vegetables. A one dish meal prep cocotte. Tight fitting lid with self basting spikes create a juicy, flavorful and tasty meal that can be cooked in the oven and served from this cocotte, taking it straight to the table. Delicious results. The cherry color is a festive piece to have for Christmas through Valentine's Day.

I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste the dish all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though!

Absolutely Perfect Size

Great for families of 2 to 4...Solid cast iron has the best heat retention. Beneath lid has nobbies that seem to always have food inside turn out moist. Cherry is Staub's most iconic colour.

I absolutely love this piece. It is so versatile and fits so much food. The 5.5 qt is perfect for a family of four and have room for leftovers. Love this piece can go into the refrigerator too!

More than a cast iron pot, it is red!

Red is so beautiful for every kitchen. It is perfect for parties or daily cooking dish. It does make a difference food taste wise, efficiency-saves gas and you can serve your delicious dish straight to your table without the need to use another dish. I also bought a staub cast iron trivet to protect my table from direct heat.

Love the black matte interior

Thank goodness- no more staining. When i got married, I received a Dutch oven- not a Staub, and over the years, it really got stained from a variety of spices and slow braising in the oven.
Staub has a cool black matte interior and is self basting and seasoning. I make family meals in this pot regularly and clean up is a breeze. I can usually use a damp sponge and wipe it dry!
