No Knead Bread

I purchased this item to bake No Knead Bread, because I thought the finish was more durable and would withstand the high temperature needed. The pan was just what I needed. The knob on the lid is metal and can withstand the 500 degree temperture the pan needs to be used at. The dark interior makes for a crispy, evenly browned bread that rivals the expensive bakery breads. Thrilled with my purchase the pan has everyhting I was looking for!

After seeing multiple recipes for no-knead bread baked in a cast iron Dutch oven, I became intrigued with the concept. Staub products are definitely an investment, so I did a bit of research on the internet. This brand was compared to its two main contenders - one, also produced in France, and an iconic and much less expensive US brand which I rejected when I discovered that their enameled cast iron line was produced in China. After reading all of the reviews and specs, I concluded that Staub was the best choice all around. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a discount on the purchase price as well as a promotional offer for complementary decorative knob was being offered on the ZWILLING J.A. Henckels website.
This is a beautiful piece of cookware and I am thrilled with the quality, appearance and performance. I baked the above-noted bread in it the day after it arrived and another version of the recipe a few days later. All I can say is, "Wow!" I am an old school bread maker and these loaves rivaled any that I have ever made using traditional methods. This cocotte will now be my go-to for baking, roasting, and braising.

Amazing product - cleans easily with baking soda
