When they Designed this One They Broke the Mold

They literally broke the mold when they made these! I love that each piece is unique and not 100% like any other. Sand molds are used to pour the hot cast iron into and then broken when cooled. So you get a unique piece that on one else has. The cocottes are so versatile and can be used for countless meal preps, even baking bread. The matte black is my favorite color of all. I think that it is elegant and can be mixed and matched with other staub pieces of different color easily. These are easy to clean, fabulous at browning, searing, sautéing and frying, and I love the self-basting lids which produce moist results every time.

Can't go wrong with this classic Staub piece

The 4qt round oven in the simple black matte representation, doesn’t get more classic than this. Chefs can enjoy the amazing benefits of Staub cast iron with this vintage look that will look good in any kitchen. This size is great for feeding 2-4 people and can be used for a myriad of stovetop and oven-baked dishes.

Favorite Cast Iron

My favorite cast iron. Perfect size dutch oven for preparing roast, soup, and stew. Surface is excellent for browning and braising, while self-basting lid design results in moist and flavorful results.

Surprisingly easy to use

When I first looked at this pot, I was a little confused because it looked like other cast iron pots that need to be seasoned, which makes it hard to clean and needs to be cared for, but not this! Right out of the box, it was nonstick and the lid with the spikes works great to make sure my meat doesn't dry out in the middle. I love this pot!

Classic Black Matte- stylish and practical

Best pot ever!!! We use this pot all the time for soup, stews and chili. I was nervous about using it in the fire pit but I swear this pot is indestructible and has worked wonderfully in the fire pit.

Like a traditional cast iron, but better!

I really like the look of a traditional cast iron piece, and that is what you get with this Staub black matte cocotte. Not only do you get to enjoy the aesthetic of this cocotte, but it functions even better than regular cast iron because of it being enameled, which means I never have to season the cocotte after I use it. The enamel works great, and the cocotte is a really solid piece, built to last.

Grill Perfect

I was searching for a black cast iron pot to use on my Big Green Egg to cook beans in.
The fact that the interior of the pot is black as well made it perfect for my grill. Holds the heat well after it is taken off the grill and maintains an excellent interior cooking temperature. The little dots on the lid do a great job of keeping everything in the pot moist.
