High-quality, well-engineered, and very useful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We made a big upgrade from a cheaper Martha Steward cast iron pot to Staub cocotte during holiday sales-- the difference is very clear from the start! Staub cocotte is much more substantial in weight, much higher quality finish, and is very thoughtfully designed. the lid dimples and deep recessed inner edge in particular stand out for water and heat retention. We are fans and are looking to use this for years to come!
What you should know about this product? It is my favorite dutch oven/cocotte, and is my second Staub. Over time, I have I have been given, or bought, a larger Le Crueset, 35+ years, a similiar sized All-Clad stainless steel, almost 20 years, and a Lodge dutch oven, the oldest. All are excellent. This one, the Staub, though, just seems to perform better, evenness of cooking, easy to clean, solid, outer glaze is safely sourced, lid knob is safe for high heat oven use. I had hoped to buy the cocotte in Basil, add a little color to the kitchen, but the matte black was my first choice on my first Staub, and was my default choice for this one. After I have the pleasure of cooking and baking with these, I know these will find a welcome home in another's kitchen. Many thanks to Zwilling Customer Service for help with this order.

My New Best Cooking Friend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so lucky to have received this cocotte as a gift. I've been using it at least every other day and it has inspired me to cook more and try new things. It cooks evenly, food is nice and hot, and is just the right size. My latest success is homemade bread, and I love making vegetables, too -- so quick and tasty.
