Great starter set

This is a great starter set if you want high quality German knives at a really great price. It comes with the most commonly used knives but also has a few open slots on the block so it can be customized based on what you cook. We eat fish quite often so, I added on a filet knife and for chopping veggies, a santoku. The handle is very comfortable and the knife is not too heavy. They stay sharp for a long time and the kitchen shears come in really handy. Beautiful premium Zwilling quality at a great price!

Truly a set of knives for a lifetime.

I cannot say enough good things about the Four Star line. I received the chef's knife as a gift years and years ago. And it has traveled with me and made many fabulous meals. These knives are a good weight - not too heavy and not too light. you can work all day with them, and no fatigue. I hone my knife often, and it holds its edge so well I forget to sharpen it. The block has slots to grow with, but this is a good set so you don't need to add much, filet knife, slicer?

Incredibly "Sharp" Value!

I was down to ONE Four Star steak knife for all of my kitchen cutting adventures (people kept "borrowing" my other pieces!). So, I decided it was high time to gift myself a new set of these beauties. This block at this price is the ONLY way to go. You're getting FIVE top-flight Zwilling knives, perfectly balanced, razor sharp and tough, for about half what you'd pay if you bought them all separately. PLUS, you are getting the super smooth scissors, sharpening rod, and the birch block to put it all into. The block is great because it has some empty slots to put other knives into, either some you may already love, or future ones on your wish list. Now my little steak knife has some buddies in the kitchen...and I can create a proper chopped salad again!

This is the best knife set I have ever had in my whole life! At first, I thought the price was very expensive, but I decided to invest in the purchase, and it was the best decision I have ever made! The knives are extremely sharp and of high quality, and the knife block looks beautiful in the kitchen! I have nothing to complain about. It’s absolutely worth the investment.
