[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great knife set. All the types you need with a small steak knife to a bread knife. I like that it comes with the sharpener and that the block has the holes cut all the way through so it stays airy and dry. Very sharp for now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very sharp edges on these knives. Block has three extra slots which is perfect because I already had three higher end Heckles. I wish the knives fit a bit more snugly in the block, just for peace of mind when moving the block to clean the counter underneath. That would be my only gripe.

good knives, but Chef's knife has a thinner blade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the 8-pc set, good knives, very sharp! This is my second set of Four Star knives. In comparing them to my original 21 year old set, the blade steel of the new 8" Chef's knife is approx 25% thinner that the old one. (about 1/8" on the old vs. 3/32" on the new). I prefer the older knife for chopping due to the weight and balance, but the new Chef's knife works excellent for slicing. The new paring knife and prep knife appear to be the same as my older set.
